I hate to be indelicate but I have noticed something strange since taking Eliquis. My urine and bowel movements smell different and I wondered if anyone else had noticed this. I would describe it as sort of a toasted oaty fragrance. I am not making this up or being weird. I am concerned and hope I am not along.

My urine color was yellow - so no blood. Just a really awful odor. 4 days off Eliquis and started on Xarelto. Urine odor not as normal but much better. Joint pain is the same but congestion has lessened. I was definitely reacting to Eliquis in poor ways.

What kind of Dr says it's normal. That's B.S. Any remark will do with some Dr's as they don’t know and don’t look for why. Keep on them. I don’t have a Dr now, but for all that he was not doing in recent years it's the same thing as not having a Dr. you just have to get to the smart person that will find out whats going on. Keep after it.

Thank heavens I found this website before I went to a urologist. The smell of my urine is so foul that I am embarrassed to use the toilet away from home. The odor hangs in the air for some time.

Yes. Definitely an odd odor to my urine. I feel the need to shower more as though my urine smell is making me unclean

I've been on it for a month now, and I noticed the awful smell with bowel movements. Also tarry color some days, and frequent bowel movements daily.

Red, brown, or pink urine would be related to the anticoagulant causing hematuria (blood in the urine.)

Try one of the cleansers made for feminine hygiene. They have their own odor, but not bad like eliquis causes.
