I would like more information on the side effects of Nitrofur Macr 100mg. ## Nitrofurantoin is an antibiotic, it is most commonly used to treat urinary tract infections. I've been taking this medicine for the last 6 days I've noticed I'm nauseous I have really bad stomach pain and back pain is this a side effect? ## Hi, Alex! Sorry about the way you're feeling. Can Nitrofur Marc 100 Mg be used to treat a inner ear infection or even Vertigo? This is not to say it can't happen, but this information is being pulled from government webpages, so there is a certain level of trust that comes with the information provided. I also researched to see if there were any contraindications or special precautions against those who may already have blood clots, and this does not appear to be a factor in the safety of this medication. "diarrhea that is watery or bloody" is closest side effect I was able to find on Nitrofurantoin. My mother is experiencing loss of memory and speechproblems can this be a side effectof nitrofurmac ## After looking at a number of credible webpages, I'm actually not finding anything relating to memory loss or speech impairment. I know these can be side effects of many prescription drugs, but in this case, not even the prescribing information for Nitrofurantoin lists such information. Is your mom taking any other medications or supplements that might be attributing to those side effects? MedlinePlus lists "excessive tiredness" as a severe side effect.
