Nexplanon And Lo Loestrin Fe?
UpdatedI've had the bc implant Nexplanon for 2 months now and my period had been on for 6 weeks out of those two months. Recently my Gyno prescribed me a two month supply of Lo Loestrin Fe to control my periods. Is it safe to be on two bc?

Hello, Camille! How are you? I'm sorry about the problem that you're having.
And yes, they can both be used, with your doctor's approval and often are used this way, to get irregular bleeding under control.
The FDA lists the typical side effects of oral contraceptives as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, weight gain and PMS-like symptoms.
Is there anything else I can help with?

Doestrogen anyone experience nightmares while using lo loestrin and nexplanon? My dr put me on a 3 month trial to help "jump start" my nexplanon... I've been on it for exactly a week and every single night I have terrifying nightmare. I wake up screaming in horror and am afraid to sleep.
Re: Cassi (# 3)
Yes!! I have had the Nexplanon insert for about three years now, but I've taken several different birth control pills along with it. These past three years, I've had nightmares at least once a week, though they aren't the kind of nightmares that I wake up terrified from. I just sleep through them. I've been on Loestrin for about the past four months or so now, and my nightmares continue. But since I've taken different birth controls along with having Nexplanon for the past three years and I've had nightmares all this time, it could be the Nexplanon causing it? I've read up about having frequent nightmares as an adult, and it says that having frequent nightmares can be linked with depression and anxiety. Depression and anxiety are common symptoms of many different forms of birth control. So it could be possible that either the Nexplanon or Loestrin are causing you depression or anxiety or both, which could then be causing the nightmares. That's what has happened to me. I have depression and it gives nightmares. Anyway, sorry this is so long, I just got excited because I have never met anyone else who suffers from chronic nightmares. Good luck and hang in there. You could try to stop using your current birth controls or experiment with different ones and see if it helps you.
