New Orleans Pain Dr. (Page 2)
UpdatedHi. I'm looking for a pain management doctor in New Orleans/Westbank/etc area. I'm 27 and some places I called only accepts 35+. My Doc of 6yrs has cancer, so he transferred his patients. I recently found a Doc, but he doesn't prescribe soma, and reduced my pain meds. I rather just find a Doc in my area, than drive to BR each month for less meds. Thanks.
Did you ever find a Dr I am looking as well in the Metairie Covington or Hammond areas.
We haven't heard from Honey in many years. Last I heard it didn't go well
The LSU pain management will write pain meds but you will need X-ray's and a MRI.
Gudhavetosufferforthebad , if you have Louisiana Medicaid, it will not pay for management of chronic pain. If you have private insurance or Medicare, there may or may not be a problem, Which University Health, aka LSU, are you referring to .
I am looking for a pain management clinic in or around New Orleans or Baton Rouge that accepts medicaid and gives narcotic prescriptions.
I'm in need of a pain management clinic in New Orleans, Louisiana that accepts cash & prescribes roxicodone.
Re: Nola 2017 (# 27)
There is no way of knowing what a doctor will and won't prescribe a particular patient. You will need copies of your medical records from your previous doctor to prove you have a medical condition that may require opiates. But that is no guarantee a doctor will prescribe what a previous doctor did. Each doctor has their own way of prescribing. But, almost all of them start new patients out on the mildest med and go from there.

Were you able to find one? I'm looking for one for my mom. Throat Cancer and she needs her meds.
Re: Honey (# 4)
Would u by any chance share the name of ur doctor. I have been having trouble finding a new PM doctor and have been a PMP for more than 20 years.
If anyone has the name of a PM doctor in the New Orleans area please share. I have multiple MRIs with and without contrast, have been a CPP for over 20 years and saw my last PM doctor for seven years. He is no longer practicing. I was prescribed a long-acting and breakthrough pain medicine-Oxycontin ER and Oxycodone IR. I've never had any trouble getting medicine prescribed or passing drug panels. I just can't find the right doctor. {edited for privacy}

The link below may be of help in finding a Pain Management Doctor in your area that accepts Medicare. You said you have Medicare and Medicaid in another Discussion. It is always best to call and verify info.
