Need Help - Crying Won't Stop From Oxycodone Withdrawal (Page 2) (Top voted first)

Updated

I am scripted oxycodone 5mg 3x day, but for the past 2 months I started taking 80-90mg a day. Last Sunday I decided I needed to stop and taper so I had to drop from 90mg to 10mg a day. It has been 6 days. I can't stop crying. I am hopeless. I don't know if I should just stop the 10mgs or if I should keep tapering down. I don't know why I started taking so much, but I do need it for pain and I do have someone that can monitor the administration of it to me. My question is...when will this end? The crying, depression, vomiting, diarrhea, hopelessness. Do I keep taking the 10mg and taper down to 5mg or am I going to continue to go through this mental and physical hell. Please help. I am on an antidepressant and a very low dosage of clonazepam .25mg at bedtime but just feel absolutely like I will never feel normal or hopeful again. I only was taking the 80-90mgs for 2 months, but when will this end? I'm on day 6 of just 10mgs and if I don't take the 10mg today, do I start the withdrawal process all over again?

The problem is you dropped to fast. You should have gone down 10 mg a week. Or go to the nearest Methodist clinic and either get on methadone or suboxine.
If you continue withdrawing expect about another week of the same symptoms however some people are fine in a matter if days and since you are withdrawing so hard you may be one who will take a little longer.

Madman, you may not understand her problem as I do as someone who can relate from experiencing the difficulty of coming off a drug that you became addicted to regardless of how it happens. If all you have to offer is obnoxious criticism for someone who made a mistake as many people do who became addicted then you may not have the problem of addiction but you do have the problem of being an insensitive, obnoxious, ****ing ****. So madman you're actually probably worse off than she is because addiction can be cured, being a ****ing **** is usually a lifelong problem.

Please go to the head shop and buy a bottle of Kratom... You will likely need either red md, red maeng da, red Bali... Go get Imodium it works as an opiate in the stomach. You will also need some crackers and if your stomach can handle it you need a potentiator such as grapefruit juice and not the sugary crap but as 100% as possible. Reply to me and I will help you find a trusted and caring vendor along with a ton of answers and help. Please do not buy Kratom from Google sites, most of the reviews we read on Google, Amazon etc... Are actually posted by employees to increase sales, they even go so far as to throw in some negative reviews so to fool us into thinking they are legit. What you are doing is dangerous. The head shop (smoke shop) kratom will work for now. Once you feel well enough you are welcome to reach out to me (I do not sell Kratom) for advice. I promise people have withdrawn from much more and all different types of opiate and done it with ease...

Nicole, you seem to be a very compassionate & intelligent person with an above-average knowledge of how a lot of this "stuff" best works. I don't assume you have an answer and/or advice for my question but asking anyway in hopes that you just might have info for me. I have read up on many a person's formula/recipe, whatever you want to call it, for safely getting off of suboxone. Do you have good information on this, more specifically I am thinking, on any possible vitamins and/or good natural safe supplements to help with what I know will be a certain level of 'discomfort', regardless of how long & drawn out & gradual of a step-down taper i attempt to do. it's the fear that keeps me just taking it. i am already suffering with depression & anymore i wonder if it is the suboxone. i have been on it over 6 years. i have tried many different antidepressants over the past 17 years & just started cymbalta (the generic, not the brand name) about 3 weeks ago. my doctor told me to give it "a good 6 weeks for efficacy" (that is, if there is any efficacy to be had, IMO).
I am so confused anymore I just don't even know. I read many of the posts on here & my heart breaks for many & i wish these people knew that they have an automatic & understanding empathetic & sympathetic friend in me because i absolutely relate & it's hard when you have nobody in your corner emotionally who just do not understand ANY of this medication crap, from antidepressants to dependance to addiction to recovery, knowing how one never intended for things to happen as they did. I do believe in better living thru chemistry but I am also sick to death of playing trial & error. I am more & more feeling like my point of existence has been to conduct a lifelong scientific chemistry project on myself. Pharmaceutical companies are evil, all of them. I worked for 2 of them & had to bite my tongue so much over 10 years i am surprised i have a tongue left at all. Sad world we are in as far as healthcare & medication. Really makes it that much easier to know 'they' are trying their best to depopulate the world - seems apparent to ME, at least...

What you really need to do taking such a high dose through the day you should have just went down 5 to 10 milligrams of week when you get down to 5 mg a day you could just stop and not have so many problems so the only thing that I could tell you take 20 mg a day for 3 to 4 days then cut down to 15 mg a day give it another 3 days cut down to 10 within that time you should feel a lot better then give it two days go down to 5 milligram for two days then you could stop you do not want to put your body through that type of shock that's what I'm doing right now exactly what I'm telling you to do good luck

I was addicted for almost 10 years to OXY and went through over a dozen treatment facilities to beat it. I was over 1,000 mg a day at times. So believe me, I know what you're going through times 10. It feels like literal hell physically n emotionally. To answer your question, the acute withdrawal phase usually starts to improve in a week to 10 days at the most. Got some as little as 3 to 5.
However, the post-acute phase can go on for much longer though it gradually improves as you go through it. Yo taper with minimal symptoms you clearly went to fast from 90 to 10 mg. If you remain at 10 mg I would expect your symptoms to begin to improve within the next week or so. However you likely will have lingering effects for some time after.

Symptoms such as, insomnia, mood swings, depression, irritability, poor appetite, low energy n lethargic to name a few. It will improve though it feels hopeless n as though it will never end. There are many things you can do to help during this time. Exercise, even if short walk. Anything but remaining in bed all day. Hot baths daily or twice a day. Amazing how this helps. Sounds cliche, but drink as close to a gallon of water a day as possible. Massage therapy is helpful to calm the anxiety and irritability. Make yourself eat at least 3 meals a day. Eating nothing lowers your blood sugar which the symptoms are those that mimics withdrawal symptoms. So not eating intensifies your symptoms. Your Dr might be willing to offer sleep aides. If not melatonin might help. Sleeping on your own can be one of the biggest challenges. Watch light-hearted movies or TV shows that make you laugh or distracts your mind. Listen to music you like with headphones while lying down or throughout the day. Amazing how much this helped distract me.

Otherwise, Google remedies for opiate withdrawal and you'll find plenty. Just be rational n sensible about the ones you consider. You can also Google supplements for opiate withdrawal and find plenty to consider. Some are designed especially for opiate withdrawal.

Try these and I assure you it will be an easier journey than if not. It won't take them completely away but it will noticeably help.
Just be consistent everyday to gain the most benefit. Daily consistency is very important.

Try these and I assure you improvement and that it will pass. When you get comfortable at 10 mg just pace yourself from 10 to 5 and be prepared for another yet milder version when going from 5 to zero. You'll be able to handle it much better with milder n fewer symptoms by far. Good luck and I'm with ya all the way LP.

U first got to ask yourself how much pain I have, now alot of people are in some type of pain, knees, shoulder, &most common is BACK pain and take pain meds and they start taking more than u r prescribed. Now when u first started talking ur pain meds it will help and then the brain says u need a higher MG on ur pain meds, but u DONT, because when u go down that road it starts to be unmanageable, so it will get out of control, now if u take 5mg 3x a day and u feel that u want more, it is only going to get worse, and then u are already addicted to the 5 milligrams 3 times a day and if that doesn't work moving up on milligrams is definitely not going to work it's just going to make you an addict and then you will be chasing a dragon that doesn't exist so keep tapering down you're going to feel like crap the diarrhea the aches and pains the nausea eventually will go away it's an opiate and if your pain is bad to where you have to take a narcotic then you have to ask yourself and your doctor do I want to live a life like this because everyday you wake up you are on pain meds and it messes your brain up and your lifestyle so keep tapering down get to where you want to be and then after that start taking ibuprofen 800 or talk to your doctor otherwise you will be going down a very dangerous path you do not want to go down trust me, and yes the withdrawals will go a way just keep fighting.

Don't wean off. You need to just stop. Maybe try suboxone, go to a Na meeting, and whatever you do don't use (especially on subs), it will kick u into the worst withdrawal ever and ya u have the disease now of addiction as do I. You need do cold turkey. I've been fighting for 3 yrs to stop. I almost have 30 days clean and took 3 weeks to get the suicidal thoughts out and almost 7 days where I could even walk more than to toilet. it's hell but each day will get better I promise. Just don't what ever you do, pick 1 up. 1 is too many and a thousand is never enough.

Kratom can be extremely helpful in dealing with withdrawals. Easily bought online and legal. Try Kratom one. Best of luck!

Hi lost in taper! I know alot about meds because I've tried them all. It sounds like to me you grew a tolerance to your oxyc. and should positively tell your Dr that and you can call them tomorrow and ask if you can up your dosage and have them get back to you to soon as possible. But if they say no to up your dosage and you still need to taper down. Well your in luck. Your going to have to up you klonipin untill you start to feel comfortable. When your done tapering slow down the klonipin. I only know this because I did it with other narcotics. I hope this helps.

Have you ever came off of suboxone? It's worse than real opiates. It put me in such a low that every day id wake up hoping to feel something and it wasn't there. I had no feelings after a while just emotionless. Also incapable of feeling any sort of joy.
