Need Doctor Jacksonville Forida Or St. Augustine, Fl That Prescribes Methadone And Valium.

I have been taking Methadone for over a year at a clinic to get off of some of the pain medications prescribed to me, one of them Xanax (been taking seven years or more) for severe anxiety and PTSD. My doctor that was prescribing my Xanax office closed. Now wondering what to do because I am very close to running out of my benzo and can not seem to find another doctor. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Much rather have assistance with being withdrawn by doctor than do it by myself!

To continue the Methadone, you're only option is to stay at the clinic. It is illegal for a regular doctor to prescribe it for addiction or maintenance.

This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.

Thus, you'll need a doctor for assistance with the Xanax and, due to the new regulations that were put in place last year, you'll need to see a specialist. General practice doctors can no longer prescribe it.

This medication carries the risk of being habit forming and could cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache and irritability.

Can anyone recommend a good doctor in that area?

He wont need a doctor to prescribe it very long,, because benzo's and methadone = death. Verwon,, quit pushing the suboxone on folks, people who have been on methadone have really bad results transitioning,, and you know it.

Would the patient need to see a specialist even if they have proof of current RX? For posters. I was RX'ed xanax since it first came on the market. I talked to my doctor in Oct 2017 and I asked to be taken off and given Klonopin instead. Xanax has a short half life and I don't like taking 2 or 3 tablets everyday. With Klonopin I haven't had to take more than one a day. I'm much happier with it as it builds slowly and it works all day
