Need A Suboxone Dr In Louisiana That Takes Medicaid
UpdatedPlease let me have the info about the dr that takes Medicaid in louisiana.
Hello, Sherry! How are you?
There is a search engine on the website at Suboxone.com that you can use to search for doctors in your area by zip code. Their contact information will also be provided, so you can contact them to see if they accept your insurance.
This medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.
Is there anything else I can help with?
No louisiana doctors take medicaid for suboxone now if the doctor is medicaid approved u will pay cash fir your appointment and medicaid will cover your script at the pharmacy
Re: shai (# 2)
Not true. IDK how you can give ppl who are struggling & desperate FALSE INFO. There are plenty. The only hitch is they want u to make them your primary care physician. For starters on leonitas St in N.O there's one. I won't give out any names because there will be a crazy crowd. So do a lil research. But I was going for 2 years. I left 4 months ago. They were and I'm sure they still do take United healthcare/Medicaid. IF U DONT KNOW DONT REPLY & GIVE AN ALREADY DOWN & MISERABLE PERSON S****Y INFO.
Re: shai (# 2)
Not necessarily true! I know several Suboxone licensed physicians in Louisiana who do accept Louisiana Medicaid as payment for the doctor's visit & also use Medicaid at the pharmacy for the prescription as well.
Re: Bostonjames (# 3)
Hi, will you kindly share with me the doctor's contact information please? I would appreciate it so much! Thank you!!
My email address is {edited for privacy}.
Re: Kimberly (# 5)
Just google suboxone doctors in the town you want followed by louisiana. It will show results.
Re: Kimberly (# 4)
If you could possibly share the MD info that prescribes suboxone and takes Medicaid for the visit, I'd really appreciate it. {edited for privacy}. Thanks.
Dr Allen Herbert in Ruston, La. (was unable to just send that...message said i needed to be more detailed but I think that my comment is as detailed as one can get!)
Re: North Louisiana (# 8)
Thanks so much! I will get on that ASAP! Much appreciated.
Re: Lyndsey (# 9)
You are very welcome! (They just don't like it when you write something short and sweet! Its kinda annoying that I am prompted to "be more detailed" before it will allow me to be courteous. Lol. Oh well...as long as we help each other its all good!?)
Re: Lyndsey (# 7)
Lyndsey, I'm not sure if you're asking me as there are a couple possibly a few Kimberly's on this forum. I will be happy to share my information if it is me you are asking. Thanks.
Please don't stay on for more than 2 weeks. I was getting 4 strips daily. Does NOTHING for pain. A lot of LA docs won't currently take anything but several hundred in cash. I'm looking for Embeda, morphine and naloxone. No one Louisiana has a clue what it is!!! I have had to change due to Medicaid. I'm in Slidell, not one doc on the entire northshore. People pay $250 a visit and have to sell half their meds so they can have food.
There is definitely a Board Certified Suboxone licensed physician whom is currently accepting new patients and whom also accepts Louisiana Medicaid as payment for the doctor's visit and the prescription will cost you approximately around $3.00 and depending on your insurance plan, you may or may not need a Prior Authorization for your meds. The clinic is about 50 miles West of Monroe. Sincere & caring doctor, also and that alone is so important & so great but is also very few and far between. I'm very thankful for my Doctor!!
Re: Kimberly (# 4)

There is a dr in amite ,la Dr. Nicholas Cefalu office visit is 150$ each time unless you switch to him as pcp then Medicaid will pay for it also pays for script at pharmacy .

Re: Mama G (# 96)
I'm gonna post this here bc it's the first one I see from 2024 & maybe it'll be seen by more ppl bc goodness I know how it is.
I go through Florida parish mental health or it's called:
Slidell Behavioral Health Clinic
2331 Carey St, Slidell, LA 70458
Tel. (985) 646-6406.
I'm just gonna do bullet points bc I ramble & y'all don't need all that rn.
* Things may have changed so maybe call first but they told me just walk in. Very few ppl there so I've been seen quickly every time I've gone.
* Saw a male nurse then the Dr & in just a short time I left w a script for Suboxone. (First time)
* I've never had to attend any classes. They just wanted me to see a psychiatrist for a psych eval. Long visit but he set me up w zoom visits bc I have no transportation.
* Medicaid is accepted for all visits/appts plus meds. Now I have Louisiana Healthcare connections but when I looked at their website for the first time, just now, it didn't list mine, not sure what's up w that.
I can't think of anything else to add except they actually seem like they wanna help you get off drugs unlike Acer who's all about the money then when you "graduate" whatever tf that means they just send you to a place just like theirs, daughters of charity to rinse and repeat. Good luck y'all!!!
Re: G (# 91)
I'm also in withdrawals also feel like I'm gonna die I can't eat I can't sleep and I've been up for 5 days please can anyone help?????
Re: Schana (# 94)
There's several. The information I have is readily available online. Just go to samhsa.gov and click on the treatment locator or physician lookup, input your ZIP code and it will produce a list of Doctors who treat patients with Suboxone and if I'm not mistaken, almost everyone of them accept Medicaid. Let me know if you have issues finding the information. I'll check my email periodically to see if you have left me another comment or question. Good Luck. I have a list but it's just too many and too much information to type out and I'm not even sure where you're located in Louisiana. It'll be easier for you to search it because it'll give you more relevant results for your location.
Re: Kimberly (# 4)
Who??? I need to know this.
Re: Kimberly (# 4)
Hey Kimberly, Do you know a doctor in Lafayette Louisiana that takes Medicaid and pay for the doctor visit and the prescription at the pharmacy?? I really would appreciate it if you would get back to me as soon as possible. Thank you. God bless you
Call your Louisiana Medicaid Health Plan. They have a list of doctors. You can also go to your plans website. If you need medical treatment for your withdrawals before you can find/see a doctor go to the emergency room.
Re: Kimberly (# 4)
Will you please give me the names of the doctors who accepts Medicaid I'm in withdrawels now and need to see a doctor asap
Re: Marty (# 87)
This website is definitely going to give you a list with phone numbers but you have to follow the instructions. Go to: www.samhsa.gov. This website has tons of helpful information and resources.
Re: North Louisiana (# 10)
Hi, I apologize for posting as a reply but I couldn't find another way. I have asked and asked for the dr contact info for north LA Drs who take amerihealth and I've seen hundreds of posts asking for the same info. And all I've seen is either they send you to the Suboxone site which if you are looking for a sub Dr you really don't feel like f*****g around any more than you already have, or they won't tell you claiming chaos. Don't clog the site unless you're willing to actually answer with concrete info.
