Need Help Finding Doctor To Prescribe Either Oxycodone Vicodin Or Methadone 10mg For My Chronic Pain (Page 11)

I have been suffering from chronic pain for 7 years and have always been on and off pain meds from tylenol 3 to 90mg methadone at the worst of any ever taken. I decided to dose down & get off of methadone as I did not care for the "clinic" enviroment per say as I was using more for pain then for addicition. I found a dr that prescribed me the pain meds for breakthrough pain and the pill form of methadone 10mg was what I chose but now he is gone as he lost his license which sucks for me because NO ONE will give me anything, not even the methadone unless I go back to the stupid clinc and I so don't want that... DOES ANYONE KNOW OF A DR. that would prescribe anything or just something to get me through life with less pain? I am in the twin cities of Minnesota and I will drive if need be.

WA state requires you to go to dr. & get physical paper script/ no refills/ every 30 days. Tough on us with foot wounds that cannot travel without help. Bad enough finding help to get to dr.APPTS! Good luck!

I suffer from degenerative disc. Also had surgery on right knee ad well as suffer terrible arthritis in all my joints, I have a neck and shoulder injury and everything is documented, I can not find a Socorro in my area and rely on others for transportation, my doctor had referee my out to specialist. I was taking oxi10 but missed a appointment and was dropped. Please help me

BL, my comment about suing the DEA/FDA isn't REALLY all that far fetched I don't think. Same time, I don't plan to get out there tomorrow & start lobbying congress to get the new rules, laws etc reversed. A little bit humor, a bit of a dream perhaps. I'm glad you're here for people but at the same time, a little positivity would be in order from time to time.

Well to be honest with anything that works & works well is addictive but i thank you for your words but i will continue to pray & search for a doc who is willing to help me knowing there's got to be 1 or 2 of them willing to help a woman who truly needs it. You know Doggy DooDoo would be addictive as well if it worked to do what methadone has for me. Thank you kindly for your reply & be blessed

Dee, what you say the reasons are that you have been going to a Methadone clinic don't really matter. The fact is that you now have a history of being treated for drug addiction at a Methadone Clinic. No dr is going to treat someone with a history of addiction with an opiate. Also the dosage for Methadone for Methadone Maintenance Treatment, which is what you have been on, is not the same as the dosage for chronic pain. Saying that you got tried of the problems you were having with pain management drs so you went to a Methadone Clinic makes no sense, unless you're an addict.

That was because id been on pain killers for pain for several years and just got really tired of the problems i was having with drs and pain mngmt. I nust found that methadone was the best pain control id ever had its just the clinic is such a hassle going daily but i will keep looking. Thsnk you for your reply

Dee , if you've been getting Methadone at a clinic then you have been receiving it for the treatment of drug addiction. You won't be able to find a dr that will treat your pain since you've been going to a Methadone clinic because you have a history of drug addiction.

Im trying to find a doctor in bakersfield cali. & the surrounding area who is willing to prescribe methadone for chronic pain im just so tired of the dang clinic everyday.

Clinics name is in the original post i thought and that Clinic is still standing and doing well!!! Twin cities pain clinic Edina Dr will
I have yet to go, but have been talking about it for some time with my old primary who now is retired and she highly recommended them so now I'm working on getting a referral again so I can get my butt over there and also get the medication that I need instead of going month to month with my primary because I need more specialized care.
Good luck in Twin Cities Minnesota there are a few good ones, yes from when I'm learning there are many who will just make you through all your money by doing a lot of additional treatments that I wouldn't even consider like Botox. So beware of those that want $$$$$ for each visit with price going up each time.
Yet like I said the original post has the clinic that I have heard nothing but fabulous things about so please look for that first post and they should be able to help you out but you do need a referral.
Let me know how it works out, for I plan in the next month's to get my backside to them to see what other help can be offered. Just hope they take my medical insurance Medica..
Good luck & please if you do go there are you find some place that's better keep me posted because I am definitely on the search for a pain management clinic and take it out of the hands of my primary

Keikee, no attorney is going to do that because it is not winnable. Drs realize now that they can't continue to increase pain meds for patients, there are limits. Drs don't want their patients dying because of something that they did, so they aren't prescribing high dosages. Patients have to do their part when it comes to managing their pain and combining pain meds with non medications ways of managing pain. Some of those ways are adjusting your life style, watching your weight, seeing a oain psychologist, accupuncture, etc. If a patient feels suicidal, it is up to them to get help. It isn't their pain management dr responsibility, unless the patient tells their pain dr that they are thnking about hurting themselves. In those cases the pain dr does have a responsibility to get them psychiatric help, not prescribe them more pain meds or continue to prescribe pain meds if the pain dr doesn't believe that they are needed.

Also, you aren't going to find a death certificate that has a patient not being able to get their pain meds as a primary or secondary cause of death. When a chronic pain patient commits suicide, they are viewed as having mental/emotional problems and the death isn't connected to their chronic pain.

I just had a light bulb moment. Someone needs to sue the heck out of the DEA/FDA for losing a family member or job or friend because a government agency that doesn't even know that person decided they were on too many pain pills! !!OMG

Kathi, you will need a copy of yoru medical records from your previous dr. It is doubtful that a new dr will start you out on the same thimg that you have been taking. You may or may not be able tpo find a dr that will prescribe you the same meds and/or in the same doses that your previouos dr did.

P, I have been on 150 micrograms fentanyl + 8 milligram dilaudid + 30 milligram oxycontin for about 6 years. Now my doctor retired with no warning whatsoever and now I'm left to try and find a doctor who will prescribe for me. I live in Sacramento California area. I have adhesive spondylolisthesis and spinalinal stenosis 6 invasive back surgeries at L5-s1, 3 recent surgeries and currently two hernias. I take these medications because I need them for these various diseases. I do not take them for any other reason and they help make me able to get up every morning and have a life. My father committed suicide just about two and a half months ago because he was unable to get his medications and I don't want to find myself or my family in the situation of having someone else do the same thing. I just can't imagine living my life in any more pain. I'm already forced to. Please help.

It is illegal to order tramadol off line in MINNESOTA! You need a perscription for it in this state! If you have it and don't have a script your ass is going to jail in Minnesota!
