please let me know if there is any substitute for the syrup Encelax (Lactitol Monohydrate) available in the pharmacies in US. thanks ## Hello, Based on my research, Lactitol Monohydrate is an osmotic laxative to help hydrate the gut. If you use the Encelax for that reason, have you ever considered trying some OTC brands such as Dulcolax or Senna-S (natural vegetable laxative tablets? Those brands are carried at Walgreens online and CVS. Please post back if you need further assistance!

Vitamins ## is it good to take conzace multivitamins and diane-35 pill at the same time? ## There are no problems that I'm aware of between taking a multivitamin and oral contraceptives, but it's best to check with your doctor or pharmacist to be certain. From what I can tell, if the vitamins are strong, you may experience more nausea than usual if you take them together. If that happens, it would likely be best to take them with a small meal, or separate them by a few hours. Is there anything else I can help with?

light blue oval ## side effect of est estrogenmtest ## These are synthetic hormones, so there is a possibility that they may cause quite a few side effects, such as nausea, headache, weight gain, acne, irregular bleeding, cramping, fluid retention and others. The risks are greater for older women and for smokers. If you don't have to take these, I really think everyone should explore their other options, such as natural bio-identical hormone replacement and natural balancing. Are there any questions or comments?

My mother is of age 68 years and has been taking pantocid(40 mgs) for past 6 years , (twice or thrice in a week). Because she gets burning in throat / chest. Some times the liquid came out from her nose also. Now she is daily taking Pantop-D (40mg). As she feels above symptoms almost daily / alternate day. We are worried about side effects. Can there be some better alternative. She is also having BP and high cholesterol. And takes BP medicines two times and cholesterol medicine one time. She takes almost normal vegetarian food with normal spices (lesser side). ## Pantop-D contains Domperidone and Pantoprazole and it is commonly used, long-term to treat such conditions. The reason they want her to use it everyday is to try to help prevent the acid reflux that she is experiencing and heal...

multi vitamins &minirals ## my doctor prescribed Ar-Natal to me during pregnancy and lactation, I noticed the good health during this pregnancy unlike the previous times. During lactation, i noticed a good amount of milk for my baby. ## So glad that it helped you, Salma. And that is exactly why such vitamins are prescribed. In many cases, it's very difficult for the mother to take in enough nutrients for herself and the developing baby through diet alone, so it's best to add a supplement to ensure that getting the proper amounts isn't a problem. So, rest assured that if your doctor wants you to take one, they have the best interests of you and your baby in mind. However, they are pretty potent, so some women experience nausea, after taking them. Are there any comments or...

I was taking a drugstore brand of meclizine, 25 mg non-chewable tablets. It worked great to control my nausea. When I ran out of the non-chewable tablets, I bought chewable Bonine. To my dismay, almost immediately after chewing the Bonine I became nauseated, and the nausea lasted almost 24 hours. To make sure it was not a fluke, I took chewable Bonine the next day and had the same reaction. Then I switched back to the non-chewable tablets and got relief from my nausea. Has anyone else experienced this? Does anyone know why the chewable form of meclizine might cause nausea when the non-chewable form does not? If I swallowed the Bonine tablets instead of chewing them, would I still get nauseated? (I haven't tried this yet.) ## 12 hours after I took the chewable fom of Bonine I also be...

Hello! I'm trying to help someone remember a medication, and can't find anything close to it's description. I was told that it is a bright light blue (aqua?) liquid, possibly in a clear bottle, and it tasted a lot like Turpin hydrate. It was given to her for anxiety, but we don't know exactly what it was, or way it was meant for. She was given it in the 1950's, if that helps. If anyone can remember what it is, she would appreciate it. ## Hi Christine, Unfortunately, I'm also having trouble finding information about this mystery medication; but I did read that Terpin Hydrate +Codeine has been used for anxiety even though it is primarily used as an expectorant and cough suppressant. Maybe in the 1950's it was used more for anxiety? I wish I knew more, but I hop...

my wife is 18 wks pregnant and she is having sever nausea / vomiting tendency.she cannot eat anything.she vomits frequently. doctor has adviced following meds. 1.ondem md 4mg 2wice aday. Is it safe??Is there any other suggestion? ## Ondem contains the active ingredient Ondansetron and it is commonly used to help prevent nausea and vomiting. Recent research has shown that it is safe and effective for pregnant women. It can cause some side effects, such as drowsiness, dizziness and dry mouth, however, the danger to her and the baby, if she is not holding down any food, is much greater than if she doesn't use it. If her morning sickness is this severe and allowed to continue, she could end up dehydrated and malnourished, which would also affect the fetus and she could end up miscarryin...

Hi everyone, my wife has been dealing with some debilitating nausea, accompanied with occasional vomiting. She's about 7 weeks into her pregnancy. For the past few days she's barely been able to eat anything more than apple slices, saltine crackers, and some sparkling water. I feel so bad for her! Even plain water is hard for her to stomach. Anyways, our OB has prescribed some Ondansetron for her in hopes that it will bring some relief. She just took her first dose about an hour ago. We usually try to avoid meds as much as possible, but we have already tried some natural products such as ginger, a special morning sickness tea (with ginger, peppermint, spearmint, chamomile), and even an herbal pill (with ginger, vitamin B6, folic acid) ... to no avail. Does anybody out there have...
