I take 325 mg of naproxen 2x a day for knee pain. Can I take 1-2 capsules of 25 mg of Diphenhydramine for allergy relief? Just for one evening. If so, how has it been working for you? Depending on the region of your pain, one thing you might want to consider trying is a topical analgesic that you can rub directly on location. My fiancé deals with painful menstrual cramps and finds various essential oils to be beneficial in that regard, but if it's something that's very severe I'd encourage you to see a doctor about getting prescribed something stronger than Naproxen. I went to the doctor yesterday for swimmers ear in both ears.The problem had started a day before.When I went to the Doctor I was managing pain very well with Naproxen. I was given 500 mg Ciproflaxcin oral 1 pill 2 x daily and ofloxacin otic solution 0.3% 10 drops each ear 1 x daily. There is absolutely no relief in my right ear. It is actually much worse than when I went too see the Doctor 34 hours a go.Very swollen inside ear and face around ear is swollen and hot to the touch.
