Nabumetone E145 Drug Interactions

I was prescribed this medicine to help with the many migraines I get. I get some of them in the back of my neck and my normal migraine medicines (Relpax) and (Naratriptan) don't always help. They do work more for the migraines that I get behind the eyes. Anyway, I am trying to get more information about Nabumetone 500. For example: what medicines are ok to take with this drug and what meds would be extremely unsafe? Ex: I was told to avoid Naproxen. What about Tylenol or Excederin? What about Butal/Apap/Caf 50/325/40? Thank you!!

Nabumetone is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory, that means you should avoid other NSAIDs, while taking it, which is why you were warned about the Naproxen. Taking more than one of them, at once, seriously increases your risk of developing bleeding problems in the stomach from developing ulcers or similar conditions. This would also apply to the Aspirin in Excedrin, so it should also be avoided.

As to using it with the medication that contains Butalbital, there is a warning on that, because it can increase the possible liver toxicity of the Barbituate and decrease its effectiveness, so using them together should generally be avoided.

There are no contraindications listed between using it with just Acetaminophen, but you may want to double check that with your doctor or pharmacist to be certain.

There is an important warning to using both the Relpax and Naratriptan that you should be aware of, they should not be used within 24 hours of each other, because this can cause Vasospastic reactions.

As to any other medications, the Nabumetone can react with quite a few, over 200 actually, so I can't possibly list them all.
