Need Help Finding A Pharmacy To Fill Dr. Bynes Prescriptions

Updated

I live in Savannah, Chatham County, Georgia. Diagnosed suffering from Degenerative Disc Disease, with Cervical Radiculopathy (one bulging disc) and Lumbar Radiculopathy (two bulging discs). These spinal problems are diagnosed by three (3) recent CAT Scans, with radiologist analyses. And yes, I have ALL of the CAT Scan CDs, and radiologist reports. I went to Frank Howard Bynes, M.D., a retired trauma surgeon, and practicing internal medicine M.D., here in Savannah, Ga, for help with severe pain control. I was written valid prescriptions for: Roxicodone 30 mg; Dilaudid 8 mg; Xanax 2 mg; Fentanyl 100mcg/hr transdermal patch; Soma 350 mg; Neurontin 800 mg. ALL, YES ALL local pharmacies, will NOT honor ANY of these prescriptions. I was a previous patient of David M. Nelson, M.D. here in Savannah, March 2010 to March 2013, and had to endure this same B.S. then, also. This medical community, with the exception of Dr. Bynes, refuses to help me- Where is their Hippocratic Oath allegiance??? I cannot work, nor even function normally each day, because of the severe pain. I have been living off of the proceeds from the Workman's Compensation settlement I received in October 2012, from the accident at Georgia Port Authority in October 2009, here in Savannah. About out of money now, and have no income. I need help with pharmacy information.

Mike I'm right there with ya!!! I've been trying for months to find a pharmacy for his scripts... I've even drove all the way to the other side of Jacksonville (don't even try another state.. especially florida... they will just tell you that they will not fill out of state what so ever) I've been to augusta, macon and every single place all in between... no luck!! I wish I could find some where as well... the places that were filling it won't now and I'm completely out of my medicines with written prescriptions in hand that I can't find a single place to fill them.. anywhere... before going to him I had been going to pain management for many many years getting the same prescriptions.. well my doctor moved out of state to go work for a huge hospital, I transferred to wonderful Dr. Bynes and boom can't get them filled... even with Insurance.... I had even used the same pharmacy for over 8 yrs and they won't even fill them.... if anyone could help find a pharmacy I can promise you I will definitely compensate you for the heads! It'll be worth your while!!!

Thanks for your reply, Chronic Pain Sufferer. This situation definitely sucks. I also was considering checking out Florida, but I am so angry, I just decided to do it next week. But, you gave me the heads up- another door closed. I am going to try something tomorrow, Saturday. I think it may PARTIALLY WORK. I actually did, on Wednesday, July 27, find a local pharmacy, which stated to me via telephone, they WOULD fill the Soma, Fentanyl, and Neurontin prescriptions, BUT REFUSED TO FILL THE ROXICODONE, DILAUDID, AND XANAX. Now that was Tuesday, not tomorrow Saturday. I am going to present myself in person to them, and talk with them tomorrow. You know, at this time, them filling the three, is better than NOT filling all six. If they will fill the three, then possibly after a while, my being their customer, they will begin to fill the others. And also, possibly I can have the Xanax, a Schedule IV, through the internet. But I know, NO ONE will fill Schedule II over the internet. I will keep you posted, whether or not l meet with any success.

Wondering if you could get the Xanax and Neurontin from a psych, then maybe another pharm or are they all running to the computer now?

I can't believe that the pharms flat out refuse to fill legit Rx's! Don't we have some kind of entitlement to quality of life under the Constitution? Real question.

9mmMike,

If I was in your position I'd take whatever they are willing to fill. You are truly blessed to have compassionate doctors and with the state of Rx's being used and abused these days. In NJ they look at you cross eyed if you attempt to fill more than one csn at a time. It's sad so many folks needlessly suffering when Rx's are available to ease pain and suffering. I may not agree with the liberal prescribing of some but to withhold relief from true suffering pain patients disgusts me. Best wishes.

Did you ever find someone to fill Dr. Bynes prescriptions?

I thought it was the law that if the script was legit then a pharmacy had to fill. This Dr Bynes is not red flagged nor is he under any investigation. IT Should NOT BE UP TO A PHARMACY .If this Dr Bynes or any other Dr is allowed to write these scripts an there legit then the pharmacy should stick to what therejob is an tthat is to fill a legit script.I have recorded two pharmacy that have told me that the Dea has threaten them if the fill f o r thst Dr.If tge dea can not find nothing on ths doctor to shut him down then they should leave him a lone. That why we should all write our legislation because that's the only thing that's ever going to stop the dea an tge pharmacy.

Tammy,

Legitimate refusal: A pharmacist can refuse to fill a valid/on-time prescription for a controlled substance if doing so would harm the patient, such as when the patient is allergic to the medication, the medication would adversely interact with other medications that the patient is taking, or the prescribed dose is above the recommended dosage, although some specialists can and do prescribed above normal doses for a patient and the practice is perfectly legal.
So it really has nothing to do with being red flagged or the dr. Under investigation . The rph risks their license and livelihood when filling a rx they belief may be harmful to the patient.

Dr. Bynes office was shut down today and he was taken in. IDK why people keep talking about filling partial prescriptions because once you fill some prescriptions and not the others the ones you didn't fill will be invalid anywhere so they will be useless

I need help also. I have been in a bad wreck and have 2 children and can't hardly move out of the bed much less play with my little ones and they are little, they are 4 & 7. I have a crushed knee, ankle, and lower back problems. My back aches very bad along with my neck and my knees ache some days but my neck, my back, and my ankle hurt everyday. I have Medicaid and I have an appointment with Dr. Bynes on January 4th 2017 but I'm not too sure about going because of the filling situation but no help. I'm a single mom who needs to be able to get a job and support my family instead of having to have others do so. Would anyone like to please help me? I have legit things wrong with me and the only reason I have chosen Bynes was because he is the cheapest doctor in town. {edited for privacy}. God Bless.

As a local pharmacist, yes it is protected by our license to refuse ANY prescription we do not feel comfortable filling. Which includes multiple controls, doctors we are unfamiliar with, etc. The DEA is in fact watching him and I have personally had a DEA agent call our store asking questions about prescription we had previously filled for him, which is why we stopped accepting them. The amount of controls he writes for are extremely dangerous when taken in combination. The best and most logical advice would be to find another pain management doctor that is not being investigated by the DEA....

Hi, I'm also in the same situation, I am postponing two surgeries because of this! I used the same pharmacy for 15 yrs and when I took scoot in my pharmacist said he got a call the day prior that he had been arrested! He was vey well present! I called his office and the administrator said people are getting them filled somewhere but could not tell me where! I left a message to see if dr bynes will call me. I have a disease that requires meds just to even function? If anyone knows please help. Thanks and god bless you all.

I'm sorry something about this doesn't feel right to me. I have a much more painful and many more back injuries than what you listed. I have never heard of any doctor anywhere writing eight prescriptions who would give you fentanyl, which is a 100 times stronger than heroin and then at the same time give you seven other scripts for heavy narcotics. I don't know what your pain is but I have exactly what you have and even much more additional back injuries, pinching nerves and herniated discs. I'm not saying you're not in pain but since the crackdown across the country regular Family doctors are not giving scripts for pain at least in my state. They will investigate every last doctor. The only ones that can write it now are pain management doctors. The drug enforcement agency is investigating any doctor that's not pain management who writes a controlled substance in the state where I live and many if not most states are aware of the severe opioid addiction problem. My insurance is not taken by any pain management doctors so I suffer. Many doctors are being arrested because they would just write scripts out like they were pieces of candy. This is watched and monitored, why do you think the pharmacies give so many problems when people try to fill a script even if he wrote you the prescription separately. Fentanyl is not given for the injuries you described, never.

I mean that's a lot, idk how you can still breathe. If it’s that bad too go to the clinic until you can figure it out..Find a new pain management dr. Make sure he’s got good ratings and will give you pain meds. And not just some vicodin.. Have you ever been on opana? Er or xr? They are way better for chronic pain than roxicodone. If anything they are a joke to me. I think extended release medications are the way to go and then maybe get you something for your breakthrough. Cause NO one will fill all that. Sorry. I have enough trouble getting subutex, klonopin, adderall, and lyrica. It’s bad and it’s getting better. I hope you get better.

Well if you are to dumb to see what is going on here that your bad . The way he writes is to let everyone make some $ not just the family that owns Perdue Phram, Doctors offices, Pharmacies, Etc. and like you said who is left to pick up the pieces? Your local Methadone clinic.

You need to prioritize the scripts because now a days that many opiate scripts with xanax won't get filled by most pharmacies. Maybe if you just fill a couple then try to fill one or two more a day or so later. If you call this doctor's office and they can't tell you where you call fill his scripts then he's scamming all of you. Obviously he had a issue that caused them not to fill his scripts and he definitely knows about it! He should at the very last tell his patients this before they leave his office with scripts in hand.

Re: unknown (# 3) Expand Referenced Message

Ir try just filling a couple here a couple there instead of all at one place sometimes you freak these pharmacies out with that many controlled at once. Also I would ask your doctor what pharmacies honor his scripts or other patients you see in the office.

Bedingfields in Pembroke would fill those if you were female that put out. I have taken 1 girl there and she told me about the encounters, and another that was a friend of my daughter told me the same thing about Dr. Bynes and Nelson Bedingfield. A third one confirmed the same. The one I saw most often sold most of her scripts and made pretty good money. I asked why would they prescribe you Fentanyl? She said for ghost pains of her single mastectomy. Having my breast cancer reoccur, I asked my oncologist would he prescribe me Fentanyl, NO WAY. I said I didn't think so, ghost pains come with loss of a limb or digits. He said if cancer was ending your life he would give morphine to be administered by a caretaker as needed. So no reason Dr. gave that prescription to any of the 3 patients of Bynes, I asked about it.

First, never "stip out" any workers comp case. Attorney's press for this so they can collect their percentage and move on. Water under the bridge. Pharmacies are funny now especially with Fentynol patches with an additional narcotic. I had a neurosurgeon who got banned from CVS. I ended up having my primary care doctor prescribe via Walgreens, & its workers comp injury. They continue to pay for my medication as I fell victim to malpractice, during 1 of 2 spinal fusions & I am NOT suing any of the neurosurgeons. They'd rather pay for pain meds than a third surgery. You have to keep trying other pharmacies or drop one of the meds. I would also try filing a complaint with CORPORATE of the drug store denying you meds. I wish you all the best with your situation.
