my doctor prescribed metformin 500 mg to take 2 tablets twice a day isnt that a bit much? also i am supposed to take a shot of lantus solostar no. 6 at bedtime both are supposed to be for my diabetes isnt this abit much/

can i subsitute galvus 50mg with lantus solostar, I am taking Galvus 50mg twice a day, My sugar level is at 150 to 200. I am 61yrs old female

No, there are people who are prescribed much higher doses, it really depends on how severely your blood sugar levels are out of control.

If, at a later time, your blood sugar level has come down and is doing better, your dosage can be lowered, or if this dosage doesn't work, it can be raised even higher or other medications added.
