Dear Sir/Mam,

I want to quit taking Musa Ka Gul, but if i don't take this i feel a headache and my mind doesn't work properly.

Thanks for any advice.

9 months free of Musa ka Gul....Went for de-addiction, nicotine replacement therapy. But mostly the urge to know that you want to quit.

First of all take a deep breath and sit back and make your mind that you actually wanted to leave taking that and then when you wanted to take this just take one or half nicotex 4mg gum. I tell you all this from experience. So just trust me get nicotex 4mg gum and replace musa ka gul with it, and just count single day that you only just not taking musa ka gul only for today, and just only count every day that. This is the last day you not using gul today.

By doing this you easily delay timing and replace it with nicotex and just do you work even when you crave so much just do only for 1 day and make that one day to 10 days and after 2-3 days you didn't crave for this again but there is one thing always came to mind that now you can control.

But trust me you didn't really control this just accept that you are powerless with this (happy to help just keep going and stay happy-i was using this from 9-10 year and more than 10 times a day) Actually i didn't count but i take it when my emotion change means happy, sad, stressed, bored. Just took it on every situation. Now i stopped using it more than 300+ days. My advice to you is just control one day and change habit of taking it to nicotex. And i am not anymore gul wala guy.

yes Please leave it slowly reducing the number of times u use it in daily basis , ottherwise u will suffered from memory problems , fertility issues , body growth issue ur way of thinking , high BP and possibility of mouth cancer .

Congratulations Neha, for your success in quitting such a bad & very dirty habit. After reading ur post, now i have courage to quit this habit. Hope i am also successful in quitting it.

Dear Brother,

I never had any other addiction, but this habit is no less then any coke or opiate habit. You wont believe I have taken hundreds of leaves, yes hundreds of leaves from my office just for this habit. I am sure you know that after a point leaves become Leave without pay leaves. Imagine what a financial burden this cheap habit has been for me...May God give you strength... Today I realized a lot of things, till last year I was just a slave.

I was too addicted to Gul.. I used it for years but was unable to quit that. Then I started to decrease its quantity by mixing it with any general toothpaste (Colgate or pepsodent).. Give it a try

Please consult de addiction clinic. Same story and bupron like group of medicine help in tobacco cessation. My teeth has even recovered to off white from yellow. I used to eat gul literally. I used in office also as khaini powder. Ur will power to leave it will turn strong if you dont feel cravings.

I'm 20 months free of gul "Filth"

I can cry and cry and cry over my 20 years of addiction but I don't cry and count everyday -

That I go without feeling the urge to use the "Filth"
Can sleep better
Don't get anxiety attacks
Can concentrate better on things
Have better Appetite
Can poop better and without "Filth"
Can be present for my family more
Don't have to take leaves from office to do "Filth"
Have better teeth
Can smile
Have better skin
Am able survive pretty good with less sleep
Can plan for future
Can have real emotions without the urge
Don't dream of getting caught using "Filth"
Don't get stares from the shopkeepers selling it
Its not only thing on my mind every moment

PLEASE GUYS LEAVE THIS BAD HABIT BEFORE ITS LATE, THIS HABIT IS WORSE THAN ALCOHOLISM OR COCAINE ADDICTION!!!

Go to a doctor now!!!!

I had been trying to quit for 5-6 years, the story is long and painful but also I’m thankful to God for giving me perseverance which has resulted in 2.5 years of Gul freedom.

There were lot of withdrawal symptoms and also the psychological dependence that makes you feel you need Gul every time you feel tensed or even tired. Champix helped me to control my urges but a lot of will power too. I thank God again and again and again.

People don’t give up on this cheap thing. Fight it, it’s a silent monster sitting in general stores on every nook and corner of India.
