Mounjaro And Bad Nausea

Updated

I started last week 2.5. I was so nauseous. vomited and one day of diarrhea. It would just come on all of the sudden. I never had nausea this bad. Then back off. It finally subsided after 3 days but I felt sore in my stomach.

I talked to doctor. Said try not to take the nausea meds. To eat bland diet. I was not hungry and probably had an empty stomach on my part I didn't want to eat feeling sick at my stomach anyway. 2nd week here. I wasn't going to do it. But going to try... this sucks. The instructions say two weeks then shouldn't have nausea.

Sorry about your nausea, I'm on week 5 with the lowest dose. As long as im losing I'll stay on the low dose, here's why. 2 summers ago I tried ozempic for 3 mos & lost # well, but the nausea, cramping & diarrhea forced me to quit. I was in bed all the time. So for me the Mounjaro seems milder. Here's some suggestions, try not to do injections on empty stomach, even a little food may help, I also heard for nausea switching the injection to your thigh instead of tummy may help. I notice my stomach tells me what it doesn't like digesting. Mine didn't like the bit of butter is used accidently to scramble eggs. I had to cut my coffee down & make sure I eat with it. Salads seem ok, except for dressing. I do eat pretty bland & i would try that until your tummy heals. One thing i have to watch is to eat small portions, have too much & my stomach feels bloated & hurts. I have to reserve room for water because I drink a lot due to a kidney issue. I eat less at a meal to allow for the water & in am plus half mug of coffee. I don't eat meat so can't help on that. But lean is best. A lot of people do have nausea reduce after a few weeks. Good Luck!

I have been using Mounjaro for 5 month’s gradually increasing dosage and am now on 7.5mg. The day I take the injection is fine but for the next 2 days I’m nauseous and have unrelenting vomiting. My glucose numbers are only slightly lower and I’ve dropped 15 lbs but not sure these results are worth not being able to function for 2-3 days. Any one having this and how do you handle it?

Yeah I drink too much coffee but they say count on nausea first two weeks no butter just like you said. I take in leg thigh. It's two days later it hits me. I've lost 12 lbs already. Blan diet. But days after it hit hard. But I am getting better. I was worried. So continuing. Sugar is good. I think I am on The edge diabetic but my numbers have always been 99 to 120. But the Keep changing everything. We'll see gonna keep moving guests with this got a telemed appoint. Tomorrow.
I need a pain doctor. One that will oversee my health and pain. These clinics here suck. They do not treat you human. I moved from Connecticut and this place is in the dark ages. I was born raised here in south. But they are awful.

I had seen on reddit subs that certain Dramamine products often help people with the nausea. You'll have to search to find out which ones.

Nausea isn't a factor for me but acid reflux is, which happens for me on an empty stomach. I was prescribed Omeprazole by a GI doc for it. Have no idea if that would benefit you at all.

My father had really bad nausea intermittently which took a few months to go away.

On Mounjaro my a1c is 5.4 and my body can control my glucose levels again. So if I don't eat for 20 hours, I don't get low blood sugar. But, not the same for everyone. Have also had a bunch of other health benefits like I think it reversed my declining kidney function. Worth sticking it out and working to find a way to make it tolerable. But, do need to be sure you are still getting proper nutrition as that is a common cause of people having to get off it.
