My doctor said I had a positive urine for heroin but I don't do it. He gave me 60mg morphine sulfate for long term and oxycodone 15s. Also, is the morphine sulfate causing the test to be false positive? ## Hi I am a recovering addict. I have heard that hep c can cause a false positive on a drug test.what kind of drug test can this happen on? Will someone answer this question for me? My doctor will not lower meds and i am not awake enough to take them as ordered. My doctor will drop me if his orders are not followed. ## If you are sleeping that much, then yes, there is a possibility that you are taking too many medications, but only you can really decide that. What type of doctor are you seeing? It really makes no sense for him to refuse to lower medications, if necessary. What is his reasoning for it? I take these drugs and I am always sleepy. I also have MS, but I am tired about 3 hours after getting up. Why? Is this a possible side effect? ## It could be due to the medications, since they are all listed as causing drowsiness, dizziness, and sedation as side effects, according to FDA reports. However, according to the NIH symptoms list, it could also be due to your MS. Additionally, it might be a combination of all of the medications, as well as the MS. How are you doing, now? i'm taking 200mg twice a day of MS-contin and have been for many years for my severe back/leg/hip/sciatica pain but there are times when my pain still knife's it way through it.Should the dosage be increaed or should I as my Dr for something else or add to the MS? ## Ask him about medication for nerve pain ## Hello, Rich! Began taking morphine in 2013. Thought my Addictions were behind me with family happy as I was. 6 months later on a dosage of 140 mg daily I’d gained 40 lbs, legs were swollen from arthritis and all I could eat was sugared cereal and drumsticks. I felt good until my weight hiked to 248 lbs. I was 100 lbs over my normal weight and sweating from menopause as well as side effects from meds. Most chronic pain patients know what I have been through with Dr.'s who hassle, disrespect and treat you as though you are just a drug addict when truely, without our medications, life is unbearable. My husband was on morphine 30 mg and the doctor put him on Norco 10/325. Which is the strongest pill for pain? ## Someone please correct me if I'm interpreting this wrong, but according to the following opioid dosing equivalency chart by umich.edu, two 10mg Norco (Hydrocodone) tablets are reportedly equal one 30mg Morphine tablet. I am transitioning from methadone and oxycodone to oxycontin (all prescribed), but took 15mg of morphine (not prescribed). Will a standard 5 panel ua detect this? I am wondering because when I had my ua today, they had me fill out a form listing all my medications. Does this mean they are going to do a more thorough test for individual drugs, and would that show morphine? ## Usually a five panel has opiates test on it so yes morphine will show as a positive opiate result for up to 72 hours

I am curious if anyone knows a pain clinic in Stanislaus County CA, or Dr. who will prescribe adequate amounts of pain medication. I have Cerebral Palsy, Multiple Sclerosis, Lupus, Spina bifida, arthritis, etc. I have had chronic intractable pain for years. I am forced off morphine as drug panels allowed doctors to force legitimate pain patients off meds with no legal protections for patients. The pain associations that promoted drug evaluations, did not advocate that patients be withheld pain meds, unless they had aberrant behavior more than 2 times. Veterans killed themselves because of a intolerant policy that forced them into withdrawal. Many were forced into withdrawal then given drug panels, and many could not receive treatment for their disabling pain. If it was obtained from some other source, there is no way to be sure. The FDA warns that it carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth, and constipation.

I am in drug court and recently tested positive for opiates. I am 5 months pregnant and have not used opiates in over a year, the only thing I've done different is eating an everything-bagel before screening. Could this make me test positive? I have had them send it to the lab, will they be able to tell the difference? I am in a confusing debate with my ex husband: Which is stronger, 30 mg of morphine sulfate E.R or 10 mg of methadone? ## Methadone is stronger than Morphine, just as an example, if you were taking the 30mgs of Morphine, the equivalent dosage of Methadone would only be 3mgs, so it's a roughly 1mg to 10mg ratio. I weight about 100 pounds, I've been taking left over 15mg of morphine for my back for about a week and a half now (just once a day). But I have a job interview coming up and I'm pretty sure they will give me a paper for a urine test (as do most jobs). Because I have a fast metabolism will it be out of my system in two to five days? ## Morphine is generally detectable in urine for up to 4 days, after taking it.
