I have been taking 4 or 5 of the 15mg ir morphine pills per day for several months. I was having a lot of pain today, so I took another dose of 15mg ir pills about an hour ago. How long before I will have some relief and how long will it last? ## I just read your post...did not see any replies, so here goes. First of all, you need to stay on top of your pain. Do NOT try to wait until it gets really severe for if you do, you will 'never' get it under control. 'Never being relative to how much you can stand, and when the edge is off enough for you to 'have a life'', so to speak. Take your meds on the first sign of break through pains, or spikes. Now, to answer the question you actually asked- normally, it takes between 20 to 45 minutes for pain medicines by mouth t...

I am a cronic pain patient. I have been taking Morphine ER 100mg for about 2 years. The price on my pills just doubles at my local pharmacy, My Dr is very open to recommendations, Can anyone recommend an alternative drug with the same pain killing potency with a lower cost. He had prescribed my Oxycontin, but the price at the pharmave was going to be about $700 per month out of pocket for me. The Morphine ER 100MG (qty 90, 3 per day) had been costing me $97 with my drug discount card, today when my wife refilled, they charged $190. When I called about it they said that the retail price of the pills had gone up. ## I have run into the same problem this month. My insurance will only pay for Morphine immediate release, and nothing else. If you find anything that might help both of us, I wo...

i know someone who soaks these green tablets and uses them for iv use and percocet to snort. what she be getting these prescribed for ## It sounds like she's shooting up 80 mg oxycontin. Both drugs are used for pain. The oxy is prescribed for severe pain. It's also called the "poor man's heroine". It it the most abused drug being sold on the streets according to the DEA. It comes in a variety of mgs starting at 5 mg. If your friend is using it interveinisly, she is most likely abusing this drug. Whether she got it by a script or on the streets (illegal), it's supposed to be taken orally. Depending on how long she's been on it, she may have to go into rehab to get off or go into a methadone clinic. I know ppl on it legitimately with severe health issues that a...

It's once a day for 2 wks. ## I'm switching from hydrodone/apap 5/500 tab mck 1 tab every day as needed for pain ## 15mgs is not a really high dose, but is usually effective if you have never used Morphine before, since your body is not used to the medication. The only way to really find out if it will help you is to try it. Have you spoken to your doctor about your concerns? How much does a 30 miligram tablet release every hour if you take one very 12 hours ## Hello! How are you? The strength is 30mgs, but the specifics on their time released are not released, because that would actually be proprietary information. Thus, they only have to prove with testing that the medication is being released to the FDA, but not tell the public how much each hour, half hour or whatever. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with? ## I am 110 lbs and afraid to take the 30 mg ER Morphine I was prescribed as I believe it's a lot...I was taking hydrocodone 10/325. HOW LONG DOES IT START WORKING, THE 30mg MORPHINE? ## The regular release or time released tablets will take about 20 to 30 minutes to start working. The instant release formulations work much faster. Common side effects may include: nausea, drowsiness, dizziness and constipation. Read more: Are there any comments or questions? ## How do I tell if my 30mg morphine is extended release or immediate release if I don't have the bottle any more? I have 2 different kinds left but don't know which ones which!? One has a M on one side and Ms30 on the other. The other one has m on one side and abg or something on the other, both are purple.

Can you please help me identify this? I can't seem to find any images. ## Hi Shannon, Did you get this pill filled at a licensed pharmacy? Just wondering because Actavis reportedly makes a pill with this same imprint you described, except that theirs is said to be pink in color. Makes me question if an orange version is real or not. This pink pill is identified as a 60mg Morphine sulfate ER tablet, used for moderate to severe pain relief. Images seem hard to come by, but if you wanted to you can also take the pill to your local pharmacy and they'll be able to verify these details in person. I hope this helps!

Hi, I've been tapering down my morphine from 400mg morphine sulfate. 3600 gabapentin and 60 mg of duloxatine, I started in October/November because of side effects like sweating and kept on crashing out for days. I'm now down to 120 mg morphine and 1800 mg of gaba and 30 mg of duloxatine and I'm still so fatigued. I'm living mostly on my bed at the moment and I can't fathom it, Is the dose of motphine still too high? I'm in a little pain but most of all I'm quite stressed as this condition has changed my life. Any input I would be thankful for. ## Hello, Del! How are you? Tiredness and fatigue can be a side effect of these medications, as reported by the FDA, they can also be withdrawal effects. You may just need to give it time. Once you are on a steady dose...

I have been on 300mg of morphine sulfate(immediate and extended release) for 3 years. I am a female, approximately 130 lbs and 5'4". How long would it take to have a clean blood drug screen and a clean urine drug screen? ## After you stop taking it, it will be approximately 4 days for urine and approximately 3 days for blood. The precise time frame can vary due to factors that are unique to each individual, but these are the average times for most people. Learn more drug testing details here. However, if you have a prescription, there is no need to worry, you simply need to inform them of that, when you go in for testing. After ten years of taking 100 morphine everyday I'm worried that a ua I did after not taking them for two weeks will still show the morphine. ## Lm, you should be clear after a week of not taking them, so if you were not taking the medication for two weeks then I can say with confidence that the urinalysis should not detect any remaining metabolites. (Most of the morphine is excreted within the first day but traces remain for days after). Please reply and let me know the outcome! ## Riy thank u...I go to doctor tomorrow I'll let u know

Are there any rules pending or active regarding placing all chronic pain patients on a morphine equivalent ratio of 120 mg. per day? To patients who have never taken an opiate this is a big dose; however, those of use who have been chronic pain sufferers for years know each individual is unique in the type, amount, how the medication is taken as to what dose works for us. The goal is to take the least amount to allow us to function at a reasonable level. I pray some common sense prevails. Sadly those people who misuse, abuse and tragically die do affect us due to the facts this is sad, sensitive, makes the news thus affecting policy and.... us! Sorry long post, a little venting. I have been tapering off of 60 mgs of morphine for the last 3 months. I've been on it for 10 years. First on 120 mgs then in 2009 went to 90 and then to 60 by 2011, up to 90 for 9 months after tri level fusion in neck between c4-c7. Best thing I ever did was the surgery and it wasn't a bad recovery at all. I'm very happy with it. Anyway now I'm down to 5 mgs and thinking about just stopping. I have heard this part will be the hardest. Is this true? My withdrawals have not been bad and I have worked thru it all. Just nervous. Thanks. ## Hello, Tammy! How are you? That's not a very high dose to stop abruptly, but yes, you will most likely experience some withdrawal symptoms.
