Fatigue And Meds

Hi, I've been tapering down my morphine from 400mg morphine sulfate. 3600 gabapentin and 60 mg of duloxatine, I started in October/November because of side effects like sweating and kept on crashing out for days. I'm now down to 120 mg morphine and 1800 mg of gaba and 30 mg of duloxatine and I'm still so fatigued. I'm living mostly on my bed at the moment and I can't fathom it, Is the dose of motphine still too high? I'm in a little pain but most of all I'm quite stressed as this condition has changed my life. Any input I would be thankful for.

Tiredness and fatigue can be a side effect of these medications, as reported by the FDA, they can also be withdrawal effects. You may just need to give it time. Once you are on a steady dose for 4 to 5 weeks and not making anymore changes, such effects should go away, because your body will adjust to the doses.

What else has your doctor advised trying?

When I was on Morphine years ago, I could barely stay awake, so it may be that it's just not the right medication for you to take.
