Mobic Side Effects, Hair Loss? (Page 2)
UpdatedHas anyone had hair loss after taking Mobic?
I come from a family of VERY THICK HAIR. Started taking Mobic in Jan 2011. I gradually started losing hair but did not "connect the dots" until the hair loss became so obvious. Today I STOP taking it and will live with the pain.
Losing alot of hair while taking mobic I'm left with super thin hair on top. Any suggestions on trying grow it back fast.
in answer to my question about Mobic and hair loss I will tell you all that I took another nsaid about three years ago and also had lots of hair loss.sorry forgot the name. my dr. just started me on Mobic 3 weeks. ago and 3 days ago began having lots of hair falling out. I had thought maybe a different brand wouldn't cause this but I was wrong.Hair is coming out by the hands full. On the good side in about 1 year after the first drug was stopped my hair was back thicker than before.the med helps the pain but I would rather have hair. all your answers helped me I hope this gives all of you some hope for your hair .needless to say I won"t take any more of these drugs thanks sandy
I have been sweating a lot I am on 15 mg mobic I am also experiencing hair loss. Think I will have to stop it and see what happens . It is a shame as it is great for arthritic pain
Mobic has caused hair loss, breakage, and turned half my hair straight (I have natural curly hair). I am so disgusted with this drug that I went off it myself a week ago. I will be informing my doctor that it is not an option. Now just trying to deal with all my pain. Not that I found that much relief with the Mobic anyway.
I started taking Mobic (Meloxicam) about a month ago and I started noticing that I was losing a lot of hair. I'm 17 so that was weird to begin with. At first, I just blamed it on getting my hair bleached but it was really healthy feeling and looking right after I had gotten it done professionally. So I started to look this up to see if it had to do with the medication and I, personally, think it does. Now I just have to ask myself if I would rather have constant pain in my knee or if I want my hair to fall out. Ugh.
I have been taking Mobic since February and noticed inthe last 2 weeks that after washing my hair and brushing I am losing hair like crazy.it use to be so thick. I also started taking calcium as I read online it helps with arthritis. It really help a pinched nerve which was unbearable in my neck and shoulder..Is there another anti immflammatory drug that does not cause hair loss.I feel like I am going to wake up bald........
Yes i have had tremendous hair loss since taking Mobic and was also told it was stress. I only take it when necessary until i go back to my Dr and get something else for my arthritis. I also feel heaviness in my chest of think this med sucks. I read that many women have had hair loss from Mobic so now I'm sure it's from that.
I've been taking Mobic/Meloxicam 7.5 mg 1xdaily for two weeks. Into the 2nd week, I started having headaches and find myself crying for no reason. I'm an upbeat person but this medication is changing who I am. The headaches are really bad in the morning and at night. Has anyone else experienced this with Mobic? I'm also taking Neurontin 300mg 2xdaily, and it's causing my vision to be blurred. This is very alarming, as it limits my mobility/driving. I've been out of work for 19 months due to a car accident. The docs have yet to prescribe melds that'll relieve my pain, moreover that have no serious side effects. I go back to docs tomorrow, and wonder what they'll prescribe this time. I've never been one to take pills, to include over the counter asprin, so it doesn't surprise me, my body doesn't agree with pharmaceutical drugs. What does help is herbs and I'll be happy when medical marijuana is passed, otherwise I'm a lost cause.
Just stopped movie after only a week but can't stop peeing, more times than usual during the day and night. Wondering if this is from the mobic or not. Can't take it because I have a slow bleed with anemia. Not a good idea. Sucks because it helped with my pain.
My first prescription of meloxicam ( for Otho arthritis) and when ever I comb my hair in the AM ! It is not good! So much hair loss! Scary
I'm so glad that came by your post! Thank you! I was beginning to think that I was losing it mentally! Everything that you stated match's the changes that going through since starting the med!
Finally decided that meloxicam is causing me to lose all my hair in the past month. Had waist long hair and now only a few strands...losing hundreds daily. I also still had dark brown hair even tho age 68. IF my hair does grow back, sure I'll be grey. Ugh. I take a lot of vitamins and supplements and keep reading up about prevention or help for hair loss but nothing helps. I have severe crippling rheumatoid arthritis that even opiods don't help. Thought I'd try meloxicam as recalled that the similar feldene helped me some in the 80's. Found this thread while researching meloxicam. The side effects sites for the drug list hair loss under rare side effects section! NO MORE MELOXICAM FOR THIS KID!
Please tell me what to take for fibro now just diagnosed with bursitis that doesn't cause hair loss? ??
I was on mobic. It worked pretty good. Had a rash and itching. I believe was a side effect. Very red hot then itchy. Mostly under my breasts. Used corn starch which helped some. No hair loss. I got off mobic and the rash went away. I think it has to do with it being anti inflammatory. Now celebrex, 200 1x p/d, hydrochloride I 10 /325 2x p/d. Still get symptoms but much milder & not as often. I think possibly from other drugs. Any information related to this?
Yes my hair falls out from meloxicam. It says its a rare side effect but it happens to me. I only take them when im in so much pain that i have to.
I too started taking Meloxicam/Mobic in late January 2016. It really helped with my arthritis pain. About a month ago I started noticing hair loss on the side of my head. I went to my family doctor and he said I had Alopecia. Went to see a dermatologist a week later and got steroid injections and steroid lotion to apply in my scalp. Oh, by the way my thyroid is normal, but my hair loss continues. I'm 61 and have NEVER had hair loss problems. A week later, the hair continued to fall out and got even worst than before my wife (a nurse) read the this medication could cause hair loss. I stopped talking the medication today and hope that this might help with my problem. The only problem is it might take weeks for the drug to get out of my system and by that time I will probably have no hair left.
My ortho NP switched me to Mobic from Celebrex and I haven't really noticed a big improvement in my arthritis knee pain after arthroscopy. What I have noticed is massive hair shedding. This happened once before to me with a cox 2 inhibitor that has since been taken off the market. Think I'll go back to the Celebrex!
Did you go off of the Meloxicam? If so, did your hair stop falling out? I have been on it for a year and just in the past 3 weeks I have lost half of my hair. Worried. Not taking anymore.
I experienced hair loss on humira, burned up.fell out, also skin burn , now just started mobic and wondering if has like ingredient. Skin starting su burn but not as bad.
