I am taking 30mg Mirtazapine. Is it safe to try for a baby whilst taking this as i could be on this drug a while and i am already in my 40s? ## So far, it hasn't been shown to cause definitive fetal harm, but it may cause a baby to be born prematurely. Learn more Mirtazapine details here. And since you are in your 40's, which is the time a woman's fertility usually decreases and she may have more issues having a healthy, full term baby, I'd suggest you discuss this with your doctor, before you get pregnant. There may be a safer medication they can give you, or they may decide you shouldn't be taking anything, to increase your chances of becoming pregnant and having a healthy baby. Do you take any other medications? ## Thanks, no i dont take any other medications but ...

i was given a small oval pil with a score on one side and no markings or logo its coloured peach or yellow/brown and was told it was mirtazapine does anyone know if that can be true pls reply cheers ## To be honest, with no markings, it's purely guesswork. It's not a prescription Mirtazapine pill from the U.S. or Canada, since they are required to have imprints to enable their identification. Learn more Mirtazapine details here. However, that doesn't apply to medications from other countries, or to over the counter products. Where are you located?

I am taking mirtazapine but they are adamant that this would not cause it and that I am taking something else. I am not and at my wits end because if my test came back negative i would get my child back

Does this plll help panic attacks and does it act fast if am having a bad panic attack like a zanx ## Mirtazapine is actually an anti-depressant as opposed to an anti-anxiety like Xanax; however it is said to work by increasing certain types of activity in the brain to maintain mental balance. That to me, certainly sounds like it could have a positive impact on someone who might be experiencing a panic attack. The funny thing is, "anxiousness" and "confusion" are both listed as side effects of Mirtazapine. So I guess there's really no guarantee that it wont backfire Lol... I found a pill on the floor in my spare bedroom inside the closet. It is white and oval cut in half, so its hard to identify it on pill identifier.com. One half has PI and the other half side has 17. Anyone know what this is. ## WIth only a partial imprint, it is going to be difficult to determine exactly what this might be. There are several possibilities, both among prescription products and over the counter items. The best advice I can give is that you just dispose of it properly. Does anyone else recognize this tablet? ## @Girl26, There are 15mg Mirtazapine tablets with a similar description to what you had been able to identify. The full imprint on these tablets contain "WPI" on one side and "11" and "17" on the other side, separated by a vertical score line...

I've been prescribed mirtazapine 15 mg for insomnia but have only taken it once. Took it lateon Saturday night and couldn't get out of bed till 3:30 the next day! Very groggy and spaced out, back to bed at 10, in and out of sleep all night, still groggy the next day, early to bed and again in and out of sleep all night, both times with very vivid dreams. I'm afraid to take it again as I have to be up at 6:30 for work! How long does it take to get out of the system, and would these side-effects lessen? Also, I've read that it's less sedating at higher doses? I don't know whether to try a lower dose or a higher one! ## To be honest, if it has affected you that much for that long of a time period, it probably isn't the right medication for you. can I use mirtazapine for sleeping as the needs arises instead of a benzodiazepine. I do not want take mirtazapine every day but may be only once a week if I have a problem to fall asleep. ## I take it as and when needed, take 7.5 or even 3.75. Sometimes I can sleep unaided for 5 nights but then need to take it for a few nights, not too sure if it ok, some pharmacists say due to the small dose it is ok however some feel I should take it for a few weeks regular and then taper off it? I am not on any other mess and it is purely for getting off to sleep. ## Mirtazapine is a tetracyclic antidepressant and may only help with sleep, because it can cause drowsiness, as a side effect. Have either one of you consulted your doctors about using it in the manner you are?

Can you please let me know the effects of Mirtazipan which i have been prescribed for anxiety. I know of other friends who have taken it and they feel worse. I know of one person who said it helped. Does it take two weeks to get fully into the system and another two weeks to get out? I have also been told that it is prescribed for helping to get back into a good sleep pattern and should only be taken intermittently for about 3 days at a time and then a rest. Could you please advise. Many thanks. ## Mirtazapine is a tetracyclic antidepressant, to have its best effect in the body, it should be taken daily, just as prescribed by your doctor. It can take daily dosages for as long as 4 to 6 weeks, for it to reach its full effectiveness in your body and it can take just as long to cycle out, ...
