Migraine Headaches From Amlodipine?

Has anyone experienced migraine headaches while taking Amlodipine?

No headaches but watched my blood pressure increase up to 200/95 immediately after it was swallowed. In the beginning it was okay but they changed manufacturers and who knows what inactive ingredients were added. Quit taking it and now only take Brand name Dyazide 37.5mg/25 mg capsule once a day in the morning same time every day. I even tried brand name NORVASC (amlodipine besylate) and that increased my blood pressure up to stroke levels.

I have had no problem with Amlodipine. It has finally been the answer to my blood pressure problems. I was given 2.5 mg and it didn't help much but my doctor added another 2.5 mg at night and it's been wonderful. I have the 5mg to take - just in case. We tried that first and it dropped my bp too low. No headaches at all.

No headaches here. Been taking it over a year now. Mine is generic if that makes any difference. I'm a 63 y.o. white male in Florida for record keeping.

Which form of Amlodipine as there are several versions used and all have different dosage amounts. I do know that higher dosages have more effects and more possible side effects especially if you are taking other medications. You should discuss ever and any symptoms with your doctor. Your pharmacist should also be making sure you don't take medications that counteract against the other.

Do you mean generic for Norvac b/p med? It depends on the generic . One is a small white pill flat the other is big different company I do get headaches.
Someone suggested to me take it at night and I do, before bedtime this way if I get a bit dizzy or headache I roll over. Coffee in the AM but in answer to your question yes. Not migraine with aura those I get from the purple pill the antacid name leaves me now. But yes I do but tolerable.
