The last time we refilled it, the pharmacy gave us tablets that are big and blue. Who makes these and are they the exact same as he has taken all along? ## Hello, Lin! How are you and your son? What are the markings on the tablets? I'm sorry, but I can't tell you anything about them just from the color. This is a generic medication, so it's actually manufactured by several different companies and they can all look different and must have different markings. Can you please post back with this additional information so I can check them for you? Thanks!
I started forgetting many thing after having topamac 25 mg, amitryn 25mg an naxdom 500mg for migraine. is this due to this medicine or something else? ## Hello, Newbei! How are you? It is most likely due to the Topamax, seizure medications are well known to cause memory impairment, along with mood swings, dizziness and drowsiness. Leaving yourself notes to remember things might help. Is there anything else I can help with?
Went to doctor for migraine headaches. She told me I had high blood pressure but no one in my family has ever had that checked every day for two weeks different times of the day every time I checked the machine always told me my blood pressure was fair. Went back to see the doctor but still she insisted that I had high blood pressure and prescribed Hydochlorot 25mg. My husband went to see the same doctor and she told him he had high blood pressure. Now my husband has seen 5 other doctors and they all say he doesn't. Do I take the pills she prescribed and believe that is what is causing my migraine or do I change doctors? ## Hello, TBear! How are you? What levels did you see, when you checked it, that you describe as fair? What were your husband's levels, when she said he had hype...
Now that tramadol is considered a narcotic I am trying to find something for my pain that will work similar to tramadol. Any help would b great. ## Hello, Tera! How are you? No, it is not a centrally acting analgesic like Tramadol, that's why it usually only used to treat migraines and tension headaches. Has your doctor made any suggestions? What is causing your pain and what else have you tried? This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.
I am so sad that this is no longer available in a tablet, but only in capsule form. I usually take 3/4 of a pill and chop it and carry the pieces in a small plastic bag. Why would you take more medication than you need to solve a problem. I see on this blog that several have been chopping the pill in half, and like me this is one of the only resources I have left in medication for migraines. I'm allergic to a lot of medication. If only someone knew how we already suffer, they'd never make it harder for us. ## So relieved that I am not alone in my need and want for Fiorinal in the tablet form. The capsules do nothing to relieve the pain and upset stomach of a migraine headache. Fioricet is just as ineffective. Does anyone know if the tablets are available from a Canadian Pharmacy...
I found a pill in my front yard from a homeless person that was sitting there. It is oblong pure white with Ex on one side. What is it. My guess is an Excedrin. I just want to know if the person was doing drugs in my front yard. Could call my pharmacy, but don't want them to think I'm trying to find out so I can take it. Not!!! ## Hello, Zorba! How are you? Yes, this is an Excedrin Migraine tablet, it contains 250mgs of Acetaminophen, 250mgs of Aspirin and 65mgs of Caffeine. Side effects may include nausea, dizziness, headache and stomach irritation. Is there anything else I can help with? ## the pill I found matches this description except it is not white it is sorta peachish/orangeish/yellow could not pin point the exact color but that will hopefully b easy to understand any i...

My old depakote (divalproex sodium er 500 Mg was a large pink pill. my new prescription of the same pill made by the same Company [Teva] now is larger, white and has the number M473 on one side. Is this the same pill. I have epilepsy and valporic acid - depakote was the med that saved me. Thanks. ## Yes, the new tablet is also 500mgs of Valproic Acid in an extended release formulation, but it is not manufactured by Teva, it is manufactured by Mylan Pharmaceuticals, which is why the logo is an M. Learn more Valproic Acid details here. Are there any other questions? ## My pill says DR (the old pink one). Is extended release the exact same thing? I was reading where some of these can be dangerous because they're given for different problems.......such as headaches. Thanks for your help...
On a visit to San Antonio, TX in Dec. I was able to fill my pain med prescriptions. As of Jan. 1, a new law was put into place and now I can't fill my prescription. What pain medications will a doctor fill in this state/area? I have recent kidney surgery (my 4th) and a brain tumor that causes chronic migraines. ## Hello, Ginni! How are you? Do you mean they are prescriptions from a doctor in a different state? If so, you'll need to return to that state to get them filled. And without having an established relationship with a doctor, they aren't going to prescribe any controlled substances for you. There were new regulations put in place for that last year. Why didn't you get them filled in your home area? ## Doctors that r willing to write pain meds in New Mexico. I just...
I have taken 3mg of Bromazepam per day for 12 years with no side effects and it helps me sleep well.Should I stop? ## Hello, Sweety! How are you? When is the last time you saw your doctor? You should be evaluated, periodically, to check out your health and see how the medication is affecting you. Additionally, you can't stop this abruptly, after taking it for such a long period of time, because that creates the risk of seizures. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Thanks for your reply Verwon. I am 62 and as far as I know in good health apart from the fact that I have suffered from migraines since I was 45 (this is under control). I had an MRI scan of the brain a few months ago because of the migraines and this showed no problem at all. I have always been a bad sleeper and wh...
My generic Fioricet pill has LCI on one side and 1695 on the other. It is round and blue. Is this a good generic Fioricet pill? The price has increased greatly! For many years I only received a round white pill. I want to make sure my pharmacy is giving me a good quality generic Fioricet pill. ## Hello, Fran! How are you? All generics are good quality. They all have to meet the same quality and efficacy guidelines set by the U.S. FDA. There's really nothing to worry about with any generic you receive from your pharmacy. This medication may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, irritability and sedation. Is there anything else I can help with?
Has Bupap been discontinued and, if so, what replaces this med? It has helped my headaches tremendously with minimal side effects. ## Hello, Jacci! How are you? No, I didn't find anything about it being discontinued or there being a shortage. Did you check with your pharmacy? They may know more. There were actually several on the market that all contained Butalbital and Acetaminophen, so your doctor should be able to prescribe one of the others, if this one is no longer being manufactured. Side effects to this medication may include dizziness, nausea, sedation and diarrhea. Is there anything else I can help with?
Is a white tablet with an M on one side and number 970 on the other a generic tablet for Fioricet? ## The pill in description is a combination of Acetaminophen (325 mg) + Butalbital (50 mg) + Caffeine (40 mg). This is most commonly used to treat migraines and tension headaches. To view more information about this drug, please click on the link below... Do you have any more questions or information to add? Please post back if you do. ## Have been ordering Fioricet generic from a group called Friendly Pharmacy....has anybody done any business with them and are they legit? ## I asked a question about the generic round blue Fioricet with LCI on one side and 1695 on the other. I wanted to know if the quality of this pill is as good as the round white generic Fioricet. They stated to wait to ...
I take 150mgs bupropn hcl, and 50 mgs tramedol, each morning. now my Dr wants me to use sumatriptan 6mgs injections for my migraines. I have read quite a bit about drug interactions and I am concerned about mixing this combination. I have used fioricet 50mgs in the past to treat my migraines at onset, and Axert 12.5mgs later in the episode if necessary. Please advise. PS this is a new neurologist to me and I am not especially confident in him as of yet. Thank you Migraine Lady ## Aloha Migraine Lady, I am a 55 year old male and I can get cluster headaches if I do not stop it in the first 1 or 2 hours I have found the Sumatriptan to work for me I take more things for BP, gout, and more I have not found it to cause any interactions. Your doctor is maybe trying to stop the fioricet use as ...
Is butalb apap caff 50 325 40 the same as but/apap/caf 50-325-40 mg? ## Yes, from what you've listed the ingredients and dosages are the same. This is a generic for Fioricet and most commonly used to treat migraines. Side effects may include nausea, dizziness, insomnia and stomach irritation. Is there anything else I can help with?
I started on Depakote less than a wk ago. I have tingling & numbing of fingers. Is this a serious side effect of Depakote? ## Hello, Cheryl! How are you? No, that can be one of the normal/common side effects and many people experience it. However, if it worsens, then you should have it checked out by your prescriber. You may also experience nausea, shivering and weakness. Is there anything else I can help with?
Is the new formulation of fioricet now class 3. A controlled substance. ## Hello, Mary! How are you? That is what being on Schedule III means, it's been found to have potential for abuse and dependence. The Butalbital in it is a barbiturate. But you do need to understand that most prescription drugs are considered controlled substances. Is there anything else I can help with? ## It is the same except it now has 25 mg of Tylenol less. The ratio of tylenol to the barbituate changed and that is what made it now a controlled substance. It's crazy!
I was taking Depakote and topamax together. My liver quit processing this combo and my ammonia level in my blood shot up off the charts. At this point I became very confused. I actually thought I had developed Alzheimer's. I don't know if it was the combination of the two or just the Depakote. It was actually divalproex which is the generic. The MRI I had actually showed swelling in my brain. After 4 days off the meds my symptoms cleared up and recent MRI's are normal. I really feel like I was not being monitored closely enough. It is very important to have blood levels taken on this med. Otherwise don't take it . I was lucky not to have gone into a coma. ## Hello, Fred! How are you? Wow! I'm very sorry about what happened to you, that's horrible. How are you doi...
I have been taking Sansert, later called Deseril in the U.K., and had almost none of the chronic daily migraines I had been suffering from for several years. Finally, I had a life without pain again, and I felt reborn. Like the rest of you, I am desperate to have this medication back on the market. Life with a constant migraine and vomiting is no life at all. I have called several compounders in the U.S., and none of them are willing to try making it. Others say they will make it, but they balk at the cost of it. Others say the raw materials are no longer available. Too many stories, and not enough answers. Are any of you taking this medication from a U.S. compounding pharmacy? Does it work for you? If so, are you willing to share the pharmacy name here? If no one has had any success, d...
