Micardis - Dizziness, Anxiety, Headaches

The doctor diagnosed me with hypertension and prescribed micardis. I'm experiencing headaches, dizziness, anxiety and all of this is affecting my quality of life. I've gone in for an ECG and CT scan and both reports say I have no problems. I stopped taking micardis today and the dizziness is still there but there's no anxiety. Could someone please tell me how long it would take for this medication to get out of my system?

Those can be typical side effects of this medication, according to NIH studies, it can also cause nausea, increased urination, and hypotension.

However, if you have hypertension, it is very important to get it under control, so rather than just stopping, you should consult your doctor about trying a different medication.

It may take a few weeks for these symptoms to go away.

How are you doing, now? Has there been any change?

I am doing fine after stopping the medication. I went to see another cardiologist and she did enough tests and a CT scan to determine that I do not have hypertension. My CT scan showed that I have sinusitis and was referred to an ENT specialist. I think the 1st doctor I saw tried to make a quick buck from my health insurance.

I've been experiencing increased anxiety since starting Micardis about 6 months ago. Some depression, too.

Does the anxiety go away after ceasing Micardis?
