I have been taking this medication for 7 days and off of it since a week and still have severe side effects, abdominal cramps, severe headaches, dizziness, unsteadiness... How long is it expected to last? It was prescribed with Ciprofloxacin to me and I take Entrophen on a regular basis...

Anna, where do you live in Sweden? What city? I ask because I'm talking to someone else from Sweden who also has had a bad reaction to Flagyl. She took it about the same time I did, June last year.

Okay, also a person from sweden Who have been Hurt, so sad. I have looked for swedish People Who have been Hurt by this poison, but they dont seem to be out there. I live near our capital Stockholm. How is she? Have she recovered anything?

Hi Erin, where do you live? Do you or anyone else correlate reoccurring symptoms during period. Since I have been keeping a journal it has all my symptoms are around my menstrual cycle. Prior to this drug no issues during menstrual cycles. I'm thinking I lose blood during this time and I'm low in iron so this is related and also if I take b12 the brain fog lifts. During my menstrual cycle now though is the only time I can sleep since the overdose in the shot of b12. Are you taking supplements any you found useful or certain foods. I have been to 10 drs at least which none have been very helpful. A neurologist, psychiatrist,endocrinologist,gynocologist,hematologist, naturopath, accupuncturist, internists, optomologist, cardiologist, plus some. Thanks melissa

Hi Anna,
I feel your pain, my symptoms seem to fluctuate. When I was taking vit b12 n d was slowly getting better until I got shot b12 and through my body from chronic fatigue to speed. It cleared up the brain fog but I have had insomnia since. It also almost gave me a heart attack and my heart rate is still high. So I know b12 small doses can be helpful. I def see a relation to my symptoms and menstrual cycle . It has been 10 mnths for me. Your english is very good by the way.

Im sorry for you to, going through this is a nightmare, for all of us
So your symptoms Come and go? Mine are there all The time
How long was it since you took The b12 shot?
So The insomnia are not getting better? Mine is still awful, only sleeps 1-4 hours a night, its terrible. Try to avoid sleeping pills, because its only making my other symptoms worse. But sometimes i have to take one.
About The fast heart rate, i have that to, every day, scary, my blood has gone Wild
I cant do anything, and my heart begins to beat fast, awful.

Anna, may I make a suggestion? You have looked at a lot of reviews on askapatient, and what I'd like is for you to read my review. If you go there, my review is under "metronidazole" (not Flagyl--look up just the generic name which has its own separate list of reviews) and mine is about 15 reviews down. It talks about METRONIDAZOLE TOXICITY (those words in all caps).

The ratings are the scores, but yes. Look at the reviews for metronidazole (not Flagyl--there is a separate rating for the generic version, metronidazole) and look at my review that had the words METRONIDAZOLE TOXICITY in caps. It has my contact info in it.

I have taken flagyl. 14 or 15 weeks ago. I still suffer. But i have a lot off symptoms. do you feel anything else? Or just The tingling or numbness?

Hi, TMB. The tingling/numbness sounds like peripheral neuropathy, and metronidazole can cause it. I would suggest pulling up the official FDA label (which has it listed as an effect of the drug) and give it to your doctor. Google "FDA label" and "metronidazole" and you should be able to find the label. You might need to see a neurologist.

How much of flagyl Did you take?
I took 400 mg, 3 Times a Day, for 6 days
I also have all that you was writing, except for the aggression. I also have extremly dry skin now, my nails has start to crack, cant feel the difference between cold and warm on my feet, panic attacks, depression, extreme headpressure in The whole head, Light and sound sensitive, eye problems. Shakking, tremors, hard time breathing, fatigue, pain, my joints are popping. Furry tounge and much more.
How long was it since you stopped flagyl?
