Can you take anxipram with metoprolol? ## Anxipram contains the active ingredient Escitalopram and mixing it with the Metoprolol can cause some problems, so it's usually not advised. It can increase how much of the Metoprolol is absorbed, which could cause severe low blood pressure and possible AV block. What has your doctor advised?

what is the difference in the pink pils with c 74 on them and the white pills I have always been given? ## I can't really say anything with certainty, without knowing the markings on the white tablets. However, it is most likely that your pharmacy has just provided you with the same medication, but the tablets look different and have different markings, because they have been manufactured by a different company. Metoprolol is a generic medications, so it made by several different companies and it is normal for your pharmacy to change which one they carry, depending on who was offering the cheapest price at the time they needed to restock their supply. Did you try asking as the pharmacy?

I have taken Mroprolol ER 100mg for eleven years. I have never paid more than $18.00 for a 90 day supply, the last being 90 days ago. Now, it has suddenly gone up to anywhere from $125 t0 $149. I would like to know why there has been the sudden escalation in price. ## Well, this site doesn't manufacture or sell any medications, this is an information only website, so I don't have a direct answer for you, but I can give you some ideas as to why the price may have changed. What pharmacy are you using? If it is a chain pharmacy, such as QFC/Kroger, Walgreens, or most of the ones that have discount drug programs, then it's likely that the prior price you were paying was the discount program price. However, such prices are only set for certain periods of time, such as year, 2 yea...

I have been taking metoprolol 50mg twice a day. My new prescription is for metoprolol ER 50 mg once a day. Are they the same dosage or is this a reduced amount?? ## Which is the dosage you are asking about? You say 100mgs in the post title, but 50mgs in the post itself. Obviously going from 50mgs twice a day to 50mgs once a day would be a dosage adjustment, but the ER is an extended release formulation to try to enable you to get better blood pressure or cardiac control.

how does this compare with metropolo extended release 50 mg? ## It is the same medication, in the same dosage, however, the extended release means that it's specially designed to release the total dosage of the medication over the relevant time period, where the regular release doesn't do that. Which has your doctor recommended for you to use?

small oval pill with M on top and the small beta symbol on one side, separated by a line. The other side is blank ## Is this pill more of a capsule shape rather than oval? My results unfortunately don't show a photo of the pill, but merely display the shape, color, name of drug, etc... With this information I located one possible match that shares the same marking "M" and as well as a "logo" of some kind. This white capsule-shaped pill is identified as Metoprolol Succinate ER (25 mg); which is used to treat high blood pressure, heart failure, and other cardiovascular conditions. If this does not sound like a possible match, I would consider taking the pill over to your local pharmacy and having it analyzed by their team to see if they can come up with anything. And a...

I've been taking MT (for sinus tachycardia) 25mg twice a day for a month now and I've been feeling weak some days. I was told that vitamins can help me get my energy back. With that said, is it safe to do so? The vits contain Calcium 100mg, Magnesium 100mg & Potassium 15mg. ## There are no problems listed between using the vitamins with the Metoprolol, but you should check with your doctor first. Magnesium and Potassium can both have an effect on your heart and blood pressure, if they are too low, or too high, which means that in your case, a careful balance must be maintained. This, it would be best if your doctor did a blood test to check your levels of them, before you supplement. Have you consulted your doctor?

after refill of the above, they do not seem to work the same way they did for treatment of my high blood pressure. The pill has the number 832 with a triangle and another triangle inside that one on the border, which appears above the number. The pill is round and white, scored on the side opposite the side on which the number appears. There is no mg amount listed on the pill. I want to be certain the pill matches the prescription. ## Yes, the tablet does contain 100mgs of extended release Metoprolol. However, there are 2 possibilities which could explain the problem. One could be related to how long you've been taking the same dosage. If you've been taking it for a long time, you're body may just be used to it and you may require a dosage adjustment. The other could be due ...

Is there a difference between metoprol and lisinopral/ ## They are both used to treat similar conditions, such as high blood pressure and certain cardiac problems, but yes, they are different medications. Metoprolol is in the class of medications called beta blockers, specifically, it is a selective beta receptor blocker. Lisinopril is an ACE inhibitor. In cases of severely high blood pressure, or hypertension that has been resistant to other treatments, it may be necessary to use them both. Individually, it can vary from person to person and how well something works for them. Are there any other questions or comments?

Is it safe to switch from Metoprolol ER to Diltiazem CD without tapering off Metoprolol? And how long does it usually take Diltiazem CD capsules to get me out of AFib eppisode. ## Well, similar to the way the Metoprolol works, Diltiazem is not going to get you out of an A-Fib episode, what it does is help regulate the heart function to help prevent them from occurring to begin with. As to the direct switch, I am not sure and would suggest double checking with your doctor. The Metoprolol can cause rebound effects to your heart rate and blood pressure, if it is stopped abruptly. It may be necessary to taper off of it, or to adjust the initial doses of the Diltiazem to accommodate for this possibility. I had to stop taking Metoprolol abruptly, since I had very bad reactions to it, so my do...
