No, I didn't find any problems or interactions listed between these two medications, but it's always best to double check with your pharmacist to be sure. The FDA lists the typical side effects of Harvoni as possibly including fatigue, headache, nausea, diarrhea and insomnia. Metoprolol is a beta blocker and its typical side effects may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination and hypotension. Is there anything else I can help with?

How are you? Sorry about the weight gain. And yes, beta blockers, such as Metoprolol can cause weight gain in some people that take them. Have you talked to your doctor about it? It might be best for you to try a different medication. ## I gained 20 lbs in 2 months. Same scenario no change in eating habits, exercise, etc. Asked my Dr. and a Pharmacist and they both tell me there is nothing chemically in the Metropolol that would make me gain weight. It has to be the medication what else? I am 69 yrs old and have weighed the same for 5+ yrs and now quickly 20lbs?

I was diagnosed as diabetic mid-December 2014 and put on Lantus shots and Metformin 500 mg at breakfast and dinner. Does this med harm kidneys or liver or any other bad effects from taking it? Are there metformin pills that are lower in mg? Will I have bad reaction if I stop taking it? ## Hello, Fred! How are you? I understand your concern, but the reality of your situation is that your organs would suffer far more damage if you don't take the medication and keep your blood sugar under control. Yes, there is some slight risks to taking the Metformin, but these problems only happen to a very small percentage of people that take it. However, 100% of the people who have diabetes and don't properly keep it under control will suffer organ damage and complications. Thus, I strongly ur...
I was on Metoprolol XR for 6 months, the most consistent dose was 50 mg once/day. I had many of the common side effects - fatigue, headaches, muscle pain - but the most distressing has been the cold hands and feet along with an intense burning feeling along the nerves in my arms, legs and face. I tapered off over the last month I was on it, but the nerve pain seems worse. I have been completely off the med for only 3 days now. Has anyone experienced this? Does it get better or am I doomed? I'm only 33 with 2 young boys. I would like to be able to enjoy them! ## Hello, Melissa! How are you? I'm very sorry about the problem you had from this medication. Yes, if it was solely due to the Metoprolol, it should go away entirely, but it may take a couple of weeks to fully taper off. Th...

I've been taking Metoprol for about 4 months now to help prevent A-Fib episodes, but since I've been taking it, first I had a location on my back that would itch, and now most days I have a dull ache, or tired feeling between my shoulder blades, it comes and goes. Another strange thing, is some days I get to feeling burpy, not forcefully, just in a minor but on-going way. Didn't have any of this prior to taking this medication. ## Hello, Karen! My husband currently has the flu and we are questioning if the two medications can be taken together. ## Hello, Shelly! How are you? Your husband should check with his doctor, first. From the Metoprolol, I'm assuming he either has high blood pressure or a cardiac condition and, if that is true, he may not be able to take the Nyquil, because some decongestants are contraindicated. Is there anything else I can help with? ## I'm takin toporol 50mg. . I have a cold, snessing, runny nose, watery eyes, what medication can I take?
My insurance isn't covering this, Anthem Pathway. What is an alternative? ## Hi Meatbe, There are a large number of different blood pressure medications to choose from in the realm of prescription drugs. Linked below is Anthem's 2015 drug formulary, representing their list of covered cardiovascular/hyptertension-related medications on page 28: anthem.com/ca/shop/content/olspublic/pdf/2015/english/MAPD_ComForm_Adv_CA_LA.pdf What I would probably encourage you to do is print out this page and bring it to your doctor to better determine which options are most appropriate based on your condition as well as what your specific plan is willing to cover. I hope this helps!
What does Take 1 Tablet by Mouth Three Times A Day mean? Should I take it every 8 hours? ## Hello, Jackie! How are you? I'm sorry about the confusion, but I'm happy to clear it up for you. Though, you should double check with your doctor to be sure. This medication is classified by the FDA as being a beta blocker that is most commonly used to treat high blood pressure and certain cardiac conditions. Typical side effects may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache, stomach pain, increased urination and hypotension. Is there anything else I can help with?
Dear all, I am so freaked out. My husband, age 41 had a widowmaker heart attack almost exactly a year ago... Jan 25, 2014. He had a drug eluting stent put in. He's been doing great all year, and in the last few weeks he's been experiencing shortness of breath again... No other symptoms. Just that. We went to his cardiologist this morning. He thinks that it may be the metroprolol he's been taking. May be reducing his bp too much and causing shortness of breath... Or maybe the cold weather.,he cut the metoprolol and said to wait a week and see if it goes away. If it doesn't he will need to do a stress diagnostic again. I'm so scared he has another blockage or restenosis.... The doc said restenosis usually has other symptoms too... Like feet swelling or chest pain etc.....
I have been taking metoprolol tartrate 50mg for 10 plus years. Recently I have been experiencing cold feet, especially when I lay down. My heart doctor checked my blood flow to my feet and said it was normal. He then suggested the culprit could be the metoprolol tartrate 50 mg that I was taking once daily. Can you recommend a substitute to eliminate this problem? ## Hi Al, Sorry to hear about you getting "cold feet" - no pun intended though Lol. Well I looked into the side effect profile of Metoprolol and found that NIH.gov actually lists "experiencing a paleness or cold feeling in the fingers/toes" as a less common symptom associated with this medication. Ref: ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmedhealth/PMH0045008/#DDIC602483.side_effects_section So it sounds to me like your doctor...
