Metoprolol And Lisinopril Meds

My husband takes 12.5 mg metoprolol in the morning and his lisinopril 2.5 at night. His cardiologist said to take 12.5 metoprolol in the am and another 12.5 in the pm. Our question is can the two medications together cause his no to get too low? He was put on the lisinopril to thin his blood since he is diabetic. Is it normal to be on both if there is no heart condition?

Neither of these medications are blood thinners. What condition does he have that requires him to see a cardiologist?

Medications in this class are sometimes given to diabetics to help protect kidney function, according to the NIH.

The FDA lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and hypotension.

Does your husband have high blood pressure?
