Metoprolol Problems

I have been on 50mg of metropilol for 11 years and have had chronic diaharrea for most of that time. What else can I use that won't cause this

Metoprolol is used in the treatment of several diseases of the cardiovascular system, especially hypertension. Were you prescribed this medication specifically for hypertension? If you were, there is a large variety of natural and prescription options for controlling and lowering high blood pressure. I would suggest the natural alternatives if you want to avoid a majority of possible side effects associated with prescriptions.

Yes I was treated because i had had a heart attack. I was also given apo-ramipril which has the same side effects so im not sure which is the diggest culprit because when i read them both they both have many of the side effects i have

Hi Deb,

May I suggest looking into the following (less harsh) options for a way to eventually get off of taking those pills:

Essential Oils (lavender, cedarwood, clary sage, marjoram, melissa, ylang-ylang)
Garlic supplementation
Dietary changes, including a predominantly fruit and vegetable rich lifestyle and avoiding salt, dairy, meat and refined sugars. (75% or more Raw vegan diet)
Controlling stress factors

Try to incorporate some of these over time if you haven't already and compare how you feel :)
