How long does it last in our bodies ## Hello, Enrique! How are you? Approximately 10 to 18 hours. The FDA classifies this medication as a stimulant that is most commonly used to treat ADHD and narcolepsy. Its typical side effects may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache, insomnia and nervousness. It also carries the risk of being habit forming. Is there anything else I can help with?

So recently I'm on a new combination of drugs. I've been on Lisdexamphetimine(Vyvanse) 70 MG for months now, and i voiced a concern to my doctor about how I didn't feel it lasted long enough. So the other day my doc wrote a script for Methlyphenidate(Ritalin) 10 MG to take in addition to the Vyvanse. I'm curious if anyone else has experience taking multiple stimulants at the same time? If so, I'd love to hear what your experience was like. Any input helps. ## I haven't taken them, but I can tell you that they usually augment each other. Thus, you may experience more nausea, dizziness, headache and insomnia than usual, as listed by the FDA. Can anyone that's taken both chime in? How are you doing taking both? ## I posted that question a little while ago, so re...

My daughter was prescribed 20 mg methylphenidate for ADD. She had a court ordered 10-panel hair follicle drug test and it came back positive for methamphetamine. The lab did not ask for and would not consider her prescribed drug. I have heard that methylphenidate will cause a drug test to be positive. Is this true?

I just picked up a new prescription for my methylphenidate and it looks different than normal. I suspect its just a different brand but can't find anything online. Its a small yellow tablet with L indented (not printed) on one side and nothing on the other. Its supposed to be 20mg. Any ideas? ## Hello, Alana! How are you? Which drug store are they from? I'm not finding any listing for a Methylphenidate tablet with just an L on it. The FDA classifies this medication as being a stimulant that's most commonly used to treat ADHD and narcolepsy. Its typical side effects may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability, nervousness, insomnia, weight loss and anorexia. Is anyone else familiar with this tablet?

been taking ritalin for years at high dose 80-100mg daily. always have had elevated bp but never treated. now 68 years old and have peripheral neuropathy esp in feet and hands and been presribed metroprolol 50 mg er. what is the stress when you hit the accelerator(ritalin) at the same time as brake(metoprolol? ## Hello, Jas! How are you? Has your doctor ever had you try stopping the Ritalin to see if your blood pressure goes down? That would be the normal procedure, before resorting to a blood pressure medication. I didn't find any interactions listed between them, but it's always best to double check such information to be sure. However, you're basically just using one to counteract the other. What do you take the Ritalin to treat? Have you tried any alternative medications...

Found a very small white round pill with a M on one side inside a box and the number 5 on the other side. There are no cut lines to halve the pill as it is so very small anyway. Found on floor of my van and am worried as to what it may be. Can anybody help? ## This tablet contains 5mgs of Methylphenidate, a generic for Ritalin, it is commonly used to treat ADHD and Narcolepsy. Common side effects may include: nausea, irritability, insomnia and headache. You can read more here: Is there anything else I can help you with? ## But there's a small white boxed M with 5 that is a oxycodone 5mg. That or methylphenidate. Both are abused and under strict control by the DEA and aren't available at your local 7/11. But seriously, so if those are just popping up you better be damn sure you h...

Does anyone know where I can order this variation of methylphenidate that is marketed as a soil additive to bypass FDA human consumption restrictions online or from a vendor? ## How stupid do you think those of us with PhDs in Pharmacology are? Sure, there are a few jerks, usually MDs who doubled-dipped and have "tack on" PhDs. I don't. Don't know where you got your PhD, but I went to Yale (BS, MS, PhD).This probably falls under the category of Methylphenidate Intermediaries as, by definition, is a Schedule II substance itself

take 1 tablet by mouth 3 times daily ## Hi will, Thanks for taking the time to share that dosing information. According to the manufacturer's guidelines, they also suggest taking 10 to 20mg orally 2 or 3 times daily; with a third dose to be only be taken if necessary (as in some patients, a lesser amount may still suffice). The dosing indications could be somewhat different for each individual, as well as those using sustained release tablets. So, in my opinion it's always important to verify this type of information with your doctor first. You can learn more about this drug on the page for Methylphenidate Details I hope this helps! ## Thx for the info, especially the link to the secondary pages, it lead me to much more connected information.

Anyone know what this is?? Was told it's ritalin, but have never seen this kind. ## Hi Alana, Based on my research, the pill you have is actually identified as a 0.5mg Lorazepam tablet manufactured by Qualitest Pharmaceuticals. (Definitely not Ritalin). Ritalin contains the active ingredient Methylphenidate, which is used for ADHD and narcolepsy. Lorazepam on the other hand is a benzodiazepine class drug that treats anxiety. Hopefully that wasn't a friend who gave or sold that to you saying it's Ritalin or I would have a difficult time trusting them from this point forward. ## It's a 1 MG not .5

I was informed by one of the pharmacists at the pharmacy window at the CVS in Medford, ny that they no longer carry this medication. Is that true? They have filled my scripts in the past and have even told me a few times that they wouldn't have it in for a couple days but they never said they no longer carry it. It is odd to me because it's a common medication. Even though I am prescribed ritalin, they usually always give me the generic. So I imagine they were referring to both. Does anyone know this to be true? I have tried to search this on the Web but have only found horror stories of CVS pharmacy ' s customer service and denying meds, nothing about them saying they don't have it anymore. ## Hello, Cyndi!
