I live in southwest Florida and I have not been able to get my Rx in over a month now! I'm frustrated. Is anyone else having this problem? Thanks for your feedback! P.S. I take 20mg x 3 daily IR. ## When this occurs towards the end of a year, and into the beginning of the next, it is usually due to manufacturing production limits of controlled substances. Each manufacturer is allowed a set amount that they can manufacture each year. These amounts are set according to sales, and demand from the previous year. This was done to help keep better track of the supply of these substances, and to try to prevent theft, and diversion. Unfortunately, most years, using figures from the prior year does not always meet the demand for the new year, and shortages occur. A company can request specia...

Are these white pills the same as the light blue pills and should my pharmacy have told me? ## It sounds like they didn't have quite enough of one tablet to fill your prescription, so they added a couple from a new supply. 3 REPLIES UpdatedI am losing it trying to find a pharmacy other than CVS that carries the Sandoz brand of 20mg Methylphenidate hcl. I have tried most independent pharmacies and none of the major chains seem to have them. I called Walmart, Walgreens, Costco, Neighborcare, Riteaid, Safeway Pharmacy, SuperFresh Pharmacy, a bunch of small independents as well as a few epic pharmacies. The only reason I dont go to CVS is because They have to order it, I have been out for 3 days now, and there cash price is higher than anyone in town. I take three 20mg hcl tabs a day. Plus, my mother is one of the pharmacy techs at my neighborhood pharmacy and has been in recovery for 12 years and would go crazy if she new I was being prescribed generic ritalin. Although I have never had a substance abuse problem, and she kno...

1 REPLY UpdatedMy 8 year old is on methylphenidate 27 mg (concerta) and doing very well with it, but I have had many problems with his clinic. His next appointment will be in 2 weeks, and his medication won't last! I have vyvanse 10 mg from the last time he was taking those. My question is can he take vyvanse until his appointment date? Is vyvanse similar or not? I don't know about this type of medication much ....but I don't think it's good just to stop it because the "clinic" has failed too many times to do their job! I know we can go to ER, but this medication needs prior authorization and last time I did that, I got a prescription but the doctors at ER were too busy to do the prior authorization so in the end I couldn't get any... ## They are similar medications that ar...
1 REPLY UpdatedI found a small round pill that says "gg" on one side and the other side is scored with "790" on it. Any help identifying it would be greatly appreciated - concerned mother ## I found a round yellow tablet line on one side to cut tablet in half and A79 enbossed on the other side. The A is rounded on the apex.. ## I noticed this site had great ?'s but few answers, so being bored as I am, I will ans the ? about expiration date and Medicine. Now, if it has never had a seal broken, this may give you some extra time in regards to freshness. It would probably serve as 6mo date. Take meds only through the severity of the condition you are taking it for and then discard the r...

12 REPLIES UpdatedThe 3 Manufacturers are Mallinkrodt/Methylin, Sandoz and Watson Pharmaceuticals. On this day, December 3,2011 I learned that if a generic drug is back ordered in lots of different Pharmacies our HMO's will pay for the drug that is prescribed. All who are prescribed Methylphenidate 20 mg. are being turned away by CVS, RiteAid, including the pharmacies in some Giant food stores . If you are prescribed both forms of this drug do not let the Pharmacist fill one part of your prescriptions and if both are on 1 prescription sheet never trust anyone to complete the refill. They'll fill the one they have and as far as the other part, you lose! ## Finally my pharmacy failure has been explained. I went to my CVS Pharmacy and Talked with the manager about the crisis of this back order defen...
