Methylcobalamin is just a nutritional supplement, it is a form of vitamin B12, so the only thing it is proven effective at treating are the conditions that may be associated with a deficiency in it.

As a supplement, it has also not been studied for side effects, as is done for actual prescription medications, but it has been reported to cause nausea in some people that take it.
