Methotrexate And Skin Problems
UpdatedI've been diagnosed with RA. Been on methotrexate about a year then started getting skin problems, always at dermatologist. Then last thing I just discovered was on my vulva area a white spot it attacks soft tissue. Came to find out its squamous cell carcinoma... surgically removed thank God. Now my rheumatologist wants me to start on methotrexate again and could happen again. Lord help, everything else has same effects if not worse. What to do? Pain comes back without it.

Diagnosed with RA and take no meds because of their side effects.
I did hear Hydroxyclorophine works the best. Methotrexate is a chemo drug. Anyway I won’t take anything so eating right to lower the inflammation causing the RA is what works for me. Best to you.

What side effects had u had with the methotrexate? Maybe if i excercise and lose 10 to 15 lbs it'll help.. what md said to you about stopping it?
Re: Sherry (# 2)
I’m a very educated woman on meds, as I’m not young and have a daughter in law who’s a NP. I never took Methotrexate because I researched it first.
There are many videos on YouTube for RA diet and exercise. If I need to I take once in a while Ibuprofen or Tumeric tea works wonders. Let me know.
Re: Bella (# 3)
Joints become very swollen. I am very active still working. I got to where I take ibuprofen 2 to 3 times a day... If taken too long can affect liver too. What did your daughter say about methotrexate?
Re: Sherry (# 4)
Sherry I feel so bad that this happened to you. There is something I could say but it will be censored about a possibility on your cancer and you’re not getting better.
Vitamin D3 actually gets rid of auto immune, K2, C, etc… I know sounds kind of easy right? Because it is. Vitamin D does wonders. I’m in my 60’s and it has really helped. The 10-15 lbs you say you need to lose weight doesn't sound like you are overweight. Also what helped me was a food app that Bobby Parrish has out. You download it, then go food shopping. I shopped Trader Joe’s, Whole Foods or regular grocery. You put the bar code to the app and Bobby is a diabetic and has arthritis shows you if you can eat it. The food is your enemy if not Organic. You must be an ingredient detective. This will all help you. Trust me. The app is called “BOBBY APPROVED”. That’s it.

Re: Sherry (# 6)
Ok happy you’ll go this route. Doctors make much money on medication, yet never tell you the easier way to get better. On YouTube there is a story of a girl who was on Methotrexate for 5 years really ruining her until she found this Dr who taught her how to eat. Try to find it. And her RA is in remission.
