i took three doses of methadone to taper down from from opiates. day one: 25 mg, day two: 20 mg, day three: 15 mg it has been 50 hours since i have taken any methadone and dont plan on taking anymore. im feeling fine except not sleeping, so my main question is with the amount of methadone i have in me which at a 50% half life i should be at 7.5mg or less ... will it be safe to take .50mg of xanax to sleep? i just read a lot of bad things about this, my gut says the reason bad things happen are when people are abusing the two. I am new in pain management. My dr gave me a script for oxycodone and said that they will be testing to make sure the medicine is in my system and to Make sure I'm not taking any street drugs. I ran out of my Oxys and was In bad pain and getting withdrawals so I took methadone on Saturday 1/31/15, the next day and my last on Monday feb 2. Between 1/31/16-2/2/15 I took maybe about 10 10mg methadones on Monday February 2nd I had taken my last two because I was able to get Oxys. I go back to my dr and get a urine test on February 10th. Okay so ive been on methadone for about a year. 90mg. But then i got pregnant. I am currently 6 months. I had to go up A LOT to feel okay during the day. I was on 140mg. I haven't went to my clinic for a week because the methadone started making me sick. I was throwing up all day and i couldn't eat it was horrible, so i stopped going. This is simple. I've been on suboxone for five years. I'm clean. I took opiates for thirty years. Methadone was the kinky way out and frankly doesn't work for the same reason subutex rarely works. You can still take opiates on top of both. Suboxone has a blocker. It is easy knowing you can't feel high. I still go to therapy and meetings. Beats being deaf. Good luck. ## Hello, Anfy! I recently left the Eastern clinic. Due to my work scheduel starting @ 7A.M. I can no longer make it there. I am a man who is trapped on methadone. I took opiates for three years and I was off for six weeks, with what felt like having the symptoms of flu. At age 28 I was prescribed methadone. That was 18 years ago. I have tried about 7 times to get off, all with very intense pain, sickness, and diarrhea (sic). I am now aware that I won't ever get off it now, as the methadone is in my bone marrow. I would love to have a life free from methadone, but it is never going to happen. Urgent!!! I need a doctor in St.Paul, Minnesota that prescribed methadone for pain. My doctor retired and I need a doctor that prescribes methadone for chronic pain. I started seeing this pain doctor and she knew from the start that I wanted to continue on with my previous doctors care plan. I have been prescribed dilaudid 8mg 4xs daily for 2 years by a respected, long time in the community pain management dr. He tried me on Fentanyl in Feb but it made me sick and changed the dilaudid to 6 daily until I find new PM Dr in my new area. I moved from Destin, FL to Jacksonville, Fl. 3 weeks ago. My Destin PM Dr was giving me the 6 daily ONLY until new Dr finds extended release rx to suit my needs and use the dilaudid for breakthrough. He didn't want to start me on a new rx and then I move in case of reactions. So.
