I am taking 70 mg daily methadone, have been going to clinic for 2 mths now. I have a severe sinus cold/infection and was wondering what OTC medication I can take without the risk of an adverse reaction? I live in south jersey, I have been on methadone for almost two years and want to get off of it. I go to a doctor in Brooklynn N.Y, and it's exspensive as well as a long day of travel, gas, tolls, etc... I am also on Medicaid and No one honors this insurance. I was in a car accident when I was 16 and have 2 slipped discs, degenerate disc disease, and Chron's disease. My son and daughter inlaw are on methadone and they both are on medicaid. Hello guys I am on 13mg of methadone and I take it every day at 9am. My question is could I have a few drinks say about 8PM? Like 3 bottles of beers if I took it slow ? Hello, I've been on methadone for 6 yrs.. Using a clinic in town. I pay close to 500$ a month but I have insurance.. I would like to find a private dr that takes bcbs and stop the clinic.. I've been going to the same methadone clinic for 6 years. I'm on a low dose of 44mg a day and am a model patient. For me, methadone was the answer. It gave me a life. I was living a terrible life before that. I had an awful childhood, started doing drugs as a teenager, eventually got hooked on opiates and worked my way up the ladder from vicoden all the way to H. I was in a wreck in 2001 and it mangled the left side of my body. My left arm is most visible from the outside. I have records in order. Okay so I have been reading all kinds of horror stories about methadone tapering, which to be honest scared the crap out of me. I was at about 85 mg of methadone a day for a nasty opiate addiction. I worked with my counselor and other out patient treatment programs to working on the underlying causes of addiction. When I felt that I was stable enough emotionally and had no more desire to IV I started to taper, VERY VERY SLOWLY!!! I went down 1 mg a week. and from everything I have read that is a very long taper and slower taper. My doctor worked with me assessing all aspects of my life, not just the physical w/d.
