I take methadone prescribed by my doctor for pain and nerve damage after breaking my neck and being temporarily paralyzed ...I have to take a urine test for a new job.. Will it be a problem if I'm given it by my pain doctor?? When I take the test I will tell them I take it. Any feedback will help.. ## Except for certain jobs where someone's being under the influence of narcotics could put the lives of others in danger, such as an airline pilot, they cannot deny you the use of legally prescribed medications. So I've been taking methadone for 8 months now. My peak dose was 70mg, but I've been weaning off of it for several weeks with the goal of getting off of it entirely. This past week, I dropped down to 5mg and my body went into full withdrawal. I honestly think that the dose is so low that it's pretty much just waste that my body doesn't absorb. I called my clinic and asked if I could come in and switch to subutex. They told me that even though I'm only on 5mg, they won't take the risk of putting me on it until I've stopped taking it for three days even though I'm only on 5mg. I have been taking Methadone for Pain & addiction for years . I have cut my dosage down from 80 Mg a day to 25 Mg a day & feel much better . My ? is it a must to wait 48 to 72 hours before Switching to Suboxone . This is what iv,e always been told . ## Yes, you must be in full withdrawal, before taking Suboxone, otherwise it could cause you to experience dangerous precipitated withdrawals, according to FDA warnings. It also carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, constipation, and dry mouth. The exact time frame can vary from person to person, but you must be in full withdrawal. Is there anything else I can help with?

I have been prescribed 270 10mg. Methadone tabs for approx. 20 years after being diagnosed with Hep.C. After the orange wafers were no longer avaiable, the 10 mg. Tabs were prescribed instead. Had no problem getting them from local pharmacies, suddenly fri. my reg. pharm. stopped supplying it. Have no idea where to find them now. I need an idea of where I can get the script. Hi, I have been on methadone for 16 years. It works for me as a comfort blanket. I just moved pharmacies and in my new prescription the methadone tastes and looks different than my old batch, which was pink and tasted like medication. My new one is clear like pee and is very sweet. Are they the same as I've not been feeling weak since I made the switch?

I take methadone every day at clinic and im on probation so if I take benzo can the ua detect the deffrences between the 2. Thank u for any help. ## yes!! benzos are a different class of drugs than opiates and show up as such on drug tests. my clinic is HARDCORE on benzo abuse with patients (take away take homes, threaten to detox you out of the program).

Does Methadone work well for Neuropathy in the hands & mouth? I'm in need of pain management in Tyler, Tx or around east Texas. ## How do you administer the methadone? Is it in pill form? My current pain treatment doctor is getting out of the program and I am looking for a new doctor in Jackson tn area that prescribes methadone. I have Radiculopathy in my cervical, Thorassic, & lower lumbar from a car wreck in 2010. Is narco stronger than methadone ## Hi crank, Did you mean Norco perhaps? Based on my research, patients using Methadone have reported it as being much stronger than Hydrocodone, which is combined with Acetaminophen in Norco. For example, some state that (10 mg) of Methadone give a similar effect as a (30 mg) or (40 mg) Hydrocodone. The problem with Methadone is the withdrawal process, it can be much more painful than any other withdrawal process. This is not going to be the case with every patient, since everyone reacts to medication differently. Your doctor should able to provide the appropriate pain medication based on your medical history and current symptoms. I'm on 108 mgs of methadone and 3mg's a day of klonapin. I want to start to take addium but don't know if they will mix without any side affects. ## From what I could gather, Addium reportedly contains the following set of ingredients: Caffeine GABA Bacopa Monnieri Alpha GPC L-Theanine Phosphatidylserine L-Tyrosine Vinpocetine Huperzine A According to umm.edu, there ARE drug interactions between Caffeine and Klonopin, stating that Caffeine may inhibit the effects of Klonopin, causing it to not work as well. I've been on methadone now for about 5 months. It's a pretty low dose. I also unfortunately top it up with alot of codeine. I have a really great doctor and team who are doing their best to help me and I am a difficult client! Anyway, long story short, the last 6 weeks or so I am in alot of pain at night time. I mean alot. It's extreme cramping and muscle pain. It lasts into the morning and I walk badly for the first hour or so after getting up. I'm plagued with nightmares too. I think I suffer from ptsd. Have had this infection only 2xs prior in my 53 years.. Been on Methadone Maint. for many years.. Seeking a pain management doctor/physcian to treat my severe Pudendal neuralgia pelvic pain. Had bilateral pudendal nerve decompression surgery & it has been over a yr later.I have bad right side nerve damage from the entrapped nerves. I also have painful bladder syndrome, endometriosis, and other contributing medical conditions. Disabled and bed ridden with a caregiver. I belong to a large foundation,which has its own doctors,psychs,facilities along with dispensing methadone.I suspected medicaid fraud because i was not receiving any of my benefits. when i informed the director. senior staff began refusing to give me their names, id cards, stop coming to work on my medicating days(fridays) only. fabricated my expulsion and refused to show me proof or an appeal. the compliance officer impersonated the President&Ceo of foundation and "persuaded" me to drop grievance. i contacted the state agency to investigate. Used to live in Jacksonville, Fl and was on a methadone clinic, but a friend introduced me to an MD who could do it privately. This turned out great! However, I had to move to a small town and the closest cities are either Belleville, illinois or st. louis, missouri. I've looked everywhere for a private md, and have had to turn to finding whatever pills I can on the street. Can anyone please advise of any private md's I can go to. i use methadone pills from a year now and just want to get rid of the addiction. ## Dear Zayed, I use 2 b on methadone. I was on (110mg) a day. When it came time 2 taper, I went through horrible withdrawals. I made it down 2 (24mg). It was pure heck! The key is 2 do it VERY SLOWLY. There r also medications that can help. Such as clonodine and other meds. Maybe, an anti-anxiety med. talk 2 your Dr about it. Me, personally, I had 2 go on suboxone after I got that low. GOOD LUCK!
