Few employers are required to use a certified lab and most of the regular, inexpensive labs do have an error rate that ranges fro 4 to 50%. I've been taking Methadone for over 10 years. Recently I've noticed some days it tastes like the Methadone red and some days tastes like a cherry flavored cough syrup (e.g. Tussionex)? Could the nurses be tampering with my medication? I'm sick of all the clinic's B.S. ......In Philadelphia...A.M.H.A. ## Is it still working for you, regardless of the flavor? If so, then I doubt anyone is tampering with it. They may just use different flavoring sometimes. The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming, and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, constipation, and dry mouth. Has anyone else experienced a similar issue? I know not everyone receives red Methadone liquids.

I'm sorry, but a regular doctor can't prescribe Methadone for addiction treatment and, if you were going to an addiction clinic, regardless of why, that's what it is now listed under in your medical records. A regular doctor can only prescribe it for severe pain. Once you've been in a clinic for treatment with it, that is where you have to stay, under the current laws. I don't know what insurance they accept, or what Medicare covers, but you could use the search feature at Suboxone.com to see if there is a doctor in your area that treats with it and call them to see if they accept Medicare. Can i take klonopin with methadone? This is my first time taking methadone they are 10mg but my klonopin I take about 50mg ## You CAN NOT mix methadone and klonopin !! Not on high doses such as that. It can cause respiratory failure. I currently am thirteen weeks pregnant and am taking fifty five mg of methadone for about a month or so now. I no longer want to take this medication since i am no longer having withdrawl symptoms, but the clinic i am currently a attending is telling me that i am not going to be able to cold turkey or start tapering off methadone util i am at eighteen weeks of my pregnancy due to the saftey of my child and possible fetal harm caused by withdrawl stress. I've been on methadone liquid now for roughly 3 years, though 60 is the highest ive ever taken, 10 being lowest and it amazes me how strong and powerful this stuff is. I swear i dropped down to 20 and was ready to switch over to subutex, but right at the last minute i bottled it despite my doctor really saying do it, best move you will ever make, but my reasons were i really was so depressed, sweating profoundly, no sleep. Also was coming off a 20 yr valium addiction take away a few yrs in detoxes and rehabs. I'm a londoner uk by the way, nice too meet ya. All good serious website help me. Hello - this is my 1st post here. I'm posting to see if someone may have an answer to my dilemma. I have been in a state of chronic pain for many years due to a car accident I was involved in as a passenger a long time ago. I have run the gamut of pain meds. Vicodan - Percocet - morphine - demerol, etc. I have found that at the very start - these meds help a lot! Over time, your body's tolerance goes up & you just have to take more and more to get the same relief that you originally got from 1 pill. So for instance - you can go from 1 oxycontin a day to 25 a day eventually, & the 25 won't work as well as the 1 did at the start. I have experienced this with all of these narcotic pain relievers. Both my husband and I have been on methadone for pain mgmt for over 5 yrs. We moved to Marysville, Ca and can't find a doctor that prescribes methadone so we are extending our search area to include Sacramento area doctors. We are both ill from withdraw and after a very tearful conclusion that we had no options but to enroll at the local methadone clinic. we are back home worse than ever as they won't take us because we take it for pain. Of course by now we are completely addicted but because we weren't on it exclusively for addiction they just said good luck and there's the door. PLEASE help. I've been on MMT for 15 years. Currently my disease is 180 per day. I've been on that or more for 6 years or so. For the past several months I've developed diarrhea with blood in it. It's gotten worse over time, and now there's a lot of blood. Enough to turn the color of the water red, dark red at times. I also was told I had a false positive for opiates.. I am on methadone and take depakote, cogentin, trazodone, and birth control.. been clean for opiates for a long time now..they retested me and said I was dirty again.. I know that's not true..of course I'm the liar tho. I also take zantac and prilosec.. could it be my meds showing up dirty for opiates. ## Zantac can cause false positives. Demand a gas chronograph test. This will differentiate what caused the false positive. Do they know you were on zantac or prilosec? If you don't ask, they won't do it, and you may have to pay, but get reimbursed possibly. If you don't, you could even get taken off your methadone, depending on the doctor. Hope this helps- oh and request this before the original sample is destroyed....

If u are prescribed methadone pills in SOuth Carolina and then move to Grand Rapids, MN where there is no dosing methadone clinic anywhere/ can u still get the pill form at any Hospitol and pharmacy in the area? Or is it treated just like liquid dose? Can u get methadone pills at any Hospitol or pharmacy? ## Regular doctors cannot prescribe it for addiction treatment, they can only prescribe it for pain. If you were in severe withdrawal and went to an ER, they'd have to treat you to stabilize you, but they are only required to do so, until you are out of danger and they don't have to prescribe Methadone. I've been on heroin 4 about 2 years.. I do about a gram a day.. I just got 27 10 milligram methadone pills.. how should I use the pills to get off heroin. do you have a strategy that can help me? ## Try taking 1 in the morning and 1 at night until your last 7 then take 1 a day for 4 days then do a half everyday for the rest u might suffer some but its worth it and if u can get maybe 2 8 mg suboxone for after you are at the half mg part ## If your doing a bundle a day start with 25-30 mg the first day, you don't need to split dose.
