Methadone And Garcinia Cambogia (Page 3) (Top voted first)

I have been on methadone for 10 years for fibro. I take 60-100 mgs a day. I have recently begun taking garcinia cambogia, green coffee bean and raspberry ketones for weight loss. Though they have been working, (I've lost 20 lbs) I've noticed about 1-2 hrs after taking them I start to withdraw. It doesn't matter if it's been 2 hrs or 10 hrs since my last methadone dose, my body acts like it's been 14+hrs as the anxiety clamps on like a vice and the nose turns into a faucet. Does anyone know if there is a withdrawal interaction or if this is just coincidence and I got a bad batch of methadone?

So just the Garcinia isn't causing any issues for you? I have been having a huge issue with the 'done causing my metabolism to slow and also a huge sweet craving. And tried cutting as much as possible and still gaining or at least not loosing any weight. So I want to try this. I'm scared for the obvious reasons.

U are incredibly ignorant about suboxone. First off, it's a pharmacy company scam 1 month or 90 8mg subs cost 900 bux, 150 10mg methadone from pharmacy, $40 bucks. No insurance.

It is just as addictive physically and if you get hurt, good luck getting pain relief from a surgery. Yikes. Only thing that cut through the sub was 100mg Iv methadone at hospital. Not even dilaudid worked.

And good luck getting subutext. The reason they'll say they won't give it is it's easy to abuse but here's the kicker, suboxone is abused just the same. It's a total lie about the narcan countering the euphoria because the binder latches on so hard to your receptors even the narcan is basically bounced.

(subs do nothing for me and after 8 months I was still in such wds so I went back to methadone after being diagnosed with atypical depression caused by the subs. It messes with you like anti depressants and most people get a mood lift. For me, I had zero emotion and feeling. Couldn't have cared if I lived or died while on it.)

I took subs for 8 months. I'd you've been on methadone for years and years, your looking at 6 to 18 months of feeling kinda weird. It's only good for people who were on short acting opes, but just my opinion.

If you take subs, do not take it for more than 2 weeks and rapidly detox it or it is just as addictive as methadone and just as hard to come off after say a few years on maintaining.

People think it's better, it's no different, just way more terrible side effects. Also, small amounts of narcan are absorbed and that messes with your white blood cells causing very uneasy feelings for a few hours while your body gets the narcan out.

Most people are allergic to narcan and don't even realize because it's somewhat mild like GI problems, insomnia, anxiety, depression, the list goes on and on.

Ashman, I was simply stating my personal opinion based on experience to a person who felt that if they didn't get off methadone FAST, they may die! I was on oxycontin for 8 years, then straight methadone for 3 years, now on oxycodone AND methadone for last 6 years for severe back injury. I had to stop EVERYTHING TWICE because of #1-My Dr. retiring, and #2- went on extended vacation and couldn't refill my meds out of town. Each time I took Suboxone and subutex for 2 weeks total and had absolutely no left over withdrawal symptoms. Yes, I agree that these drugs can be addictive IF taken for too long a period OR by people who genuinely DONT WANT to quit narcotics, but for one reason or another are forced too. Trying to get a person who is addicted to pain meds to quit IF THEY DONT WANT TO is a losing proposition because they will still mentally crave the feeling of euphoria from the drugs and will experience deep depression and resentment if FORCED to stop taking the drugs. They will inevitably find an excuse to use again until their experiences with drugs become negative and they no longer feel "good" from taking the drugs, but instead feel sick, weak, and like the drug no longer causes a positive effect. People that take a REASONABLE DOSE of narcotic drugs AS PRESCRIBED BY THE DR. can maintain good health with relatively no negative effects from opioid drugs IF they maintain a good health regimen that includes exercise, good eating habits, and NOT DRINKING ALCOHOL!! YOU ABSOLUTELY CANNOT MIX ALCOHOL AND NARCOTICS AND EXPECT TO LIVE A LONG LIFE-PERIOD! You CAN be addicted to DR. PRESCRIBED PAIN MEDS and live a long healthy life, but you can't be an ALCOHOLIC WHO IS ALSO ADDICTED TO PAIN MEDS. I personally had to make that choice. I was an ALCOHOLIC for 25 years when I had my accident and realized very quickly that the pills and booze didn't mix well together and I made the decision to be out of pain, so I quit cold turkey. Nothing helps alcohol withdrawal better than narcotics! You're replacing one addictive substance with another so your body doesn't miss the intoxicating effects of the alcohol as much. These are all personal choices that only you can make, but when I had to come off drugs rapidly, subutex and Suboxone worked wonders for me. And there are outside factors involved in this process such as cost, and finding a Dr. to prescribe them ESPECIALLY if you live in a large city with a high incidence of drug abuse. But if you have hit "rock bottom" and genuinely WANT TO quit, these drugs WILL help you.

No problem. I need to lose weight desperatly myself and when I kept hearing all the great things about the Garcinia cambogia I felt like i finally hit the jackpot. Only to feel like I've never taken methadone in my life. I can't do it. But congratulations on your weight loss.

I am having the same problem. They should have warned me of this side effect, as i would nEVER have touched Methadone knowing. Go ahead. Being thin and healthy is more important, and really the best thing you can do to loose weight is to lower your dose. I have been doing that.

Hi.. I've been on methadone for almost 4 yrs now. I'm on 120mg at a clinic. I've gained so much weight cus its given me a bad sweet tooth. My nose runs constantly. I took Garcia casibo and noticed i felt sick with stomach cramps an sweating a few hours after i took it. I did not think it was the garcinia. Few months later I mentioned that im gonna b taking the garcinia an that's when somebody mentioned that it causes withdrawal. That's when i began to google it and found many people have had the same experience... Although i hear it does help with weight loss, somebody lost 20lbs.

I have been on methadone for going on 3 years. I am on 125 mg. I started the Garcinia Cambogia 800mg/Standardized Extract 60% Providing Hydroxycitric acid 480 Mg, with Chromium 100mcg a few days ago, maybe about a week ago. I take it two times a day morning and dinner time. I have honestly never had any problem with it. I have not gone into withdrawal or had any withdrawal symptoms at all.
I have gained 45 pounds being on Methadone so I am ready to get rid of the extra weight. I hope this Garcinia works can help as well as it says.

Honey, the only thing I would recommend taking is vitadone or nutridone because this is specifically designed for methadone patients. Look this up and see if u wanna try it!

The best option to alleviate the sweet tooth and limit excess sweating is an OTC preparation called nutridone. It has proven extremely beneficial for the adverse reactions caused by daily dosing of methadone. You can google nutridone for further information.

Good for you for given up the methadone... My question is then what???People are so predisposed to
hammer methadone and people who REQUIRE THIS DRUG.If you view this objectively 90% Of those either return to some for of opioid replacement therapy or relapse to thier drug of choice.If your motivated and use all the tools available methadone is an exceptionally successful protocol for channge.What distresses me most is when patients being treated with the drug bashes its use although it's responsible for keeping them maintained ..

Hello, I started taking Garcinia Cambogia and on methadone (110 mg) I gained over 100 lbs now weighing 220. Although, I haven't noticed much weight loss at all, I found that taking the garcinia was more bearable if taken at night. When I wake up I have alot of energy but I assume taking it at night diminishes the purpose of helping me be more active, ect. I am making a Dr app to discuss my routine so I will keep you posted. But I recommend this only because I do not feel withdraw at any amount what so ever. Withdrawal is my biggest fear. I am hoping this helps with tapering over time. When your physical is energised and happy, your attitude blossoms.

And FYI.. I would say there is a couple days in the beginning where you feel slightly achy but nothing remotely close to terrible.

It will do the same. ..it's the G.C. flushes out toxins. ..hense...it's gonna flush out the methadone...do not take it..I learned the hard way..it took a few days to even realize it was the Garcinia Cambogia!

Don't use garcinia Cambodia while on methadone I did and it ate right through my dose and I had withdrawal symptoms . It works i lost weight but not worth it . Made me sick I hope this helps.

There are several people at my clinic that are on 150 mg of methadone,if ur not a doc and not the doctor of the patient that's on that dose u can't say "there is no reason for anyone to be on 150mg of methadone". Everyone is different,now at 110mg the doc does a blood test called a peak and trough to see how fast ur body is metabolising ur methadone so that they can increase it safely,cause it is a federal law before they can increase ur dose past the 110mg. Maybe u don't need that much but that's u. Don't wanna sound rude but u did great getting sober but don't worry about others if they r trying to do the same thing and it takes more! Hooray for anyone that gets sober no matter how much it takes. It just offends me for anyone to get knocked for doing what it takes to get sober especially someone who has been through it. Your the last person I would expect this from,maybe u should educate urself before u say things

No it 100 percent does interact with Methadone. Garcinia Cambogia speeds up your metabolism. It’s pushing the methadone through your system way faster than intended and that’s why a lot of people feel withdrawals. Methadone is designed to last 24hrs. Garcinia Cambogia speeds that up and therefor you feel withdrawal before the 24 hrs is up. Everyone is different. I am now able to take Garcinia Cambogia with no withdrawal (in small to moderate doses) as I am on 26mg instead of 70mg. Like I said everyone is different and this will depend on your natural metabolism.

What about taking the Garcinia Cambogia with oxycodone? I just found out my Thyroid is low and reason for weight gain. I'm two days into Levothyroxine but hear conflicting reports concerning weight loss vs gain...I'm looking for amphetamines for .....AADD, years ago I was prescribed Adderal, perhaps I can get that....

You know I noticed the VERY SAME thing! I take 78mgs of liquid methadon I get from the clinic every morning, & I started taking the garcinia with in just a couple hours of taking it.... FULL withdraw! What can we do to partake of this weight loss & not through ourselves into complete hell in the process?

I think it's because it's making your metabolism speed up & it's burning everything up quicker inside. I am also a methadone user & I am also on 100mg Fentanyl patches & it's been a little over 24 hours & I haven't had any withdrawal feelings. I am thinking it's because with the patch that keeps injecting my pain medicine. I really need to loose some weight & was hoping there wouldn't be any interaction with me taking pain meds so I looked & I found this forum. I wish you all luck & I'm hoping I can keep taking the Garcinia and my pain meds.
