Methadone An Klonopin While Being Pregnant

I have been on methadone for seven years. Thru a clinic. I also am prescribed many anti depressants as well as 2 mg klonopin. I just found out iam 10 weeks pregnant. What should i do? Does me taking both these medications affect my baby? Where di i go to research this. I do not eant to hurt my baby at all. Any advice?

Methadone is usually not stopped during pregnancy, if the mother has been on it for a long time, though the baby may experience some side effects, when it is born and could also suffer some minor withdrawals. However, suddenly stopping it can be far more dangerous, because if you go into severe withdrawals it could result in miscarriage, according to the NIH.

Benzodiazepines, such as Klonopin, should usually not be taken during the first trimester, however, abruptly stopping it creates the risk of seizures, so it is best done via a slow taper, under doctor's supervision.

And, as always, while pregnant, that is the best thing to do, always follow your doctor's advice. They've experience dealing with this type of thing, they've seen it all, before.

Its not good to take the anti depresents some are NOT safe!!! An i wouldn't suggest u taking any kpins unless u absolutely need to take one.. I get it with panic attacks an anxiety u mite need. To take somthing but dont take every day. Have u gone over ur medications with ur dr u need let them kno ur pregnant cus u need to kno whats safe an not safe to take while pregnant. What anti depresents are u on??? Congrads on the baby. .
