Methadone Clinics Detox (Top voted first)

Updated

I've been in my clinic 5 years with no problems, then all of a sudden my insurance is cut off and they never told me and I got a lil loud n upset so they kicked me out. I've never had any issues or been in trouble for discipline. I've also been clean for 2 years.

Hey Im sorry that happened how are things going now? Well Im also in a program st Joseph methadone clinic in nyc and I also am having major problems with my counslor Tanya who gets off making me pee in front of people. Anyway I think we should both substitute cannabis for the methadone and start tapering. Eh?

I feel extremely paranoid and anxious and irritable during methadone withdrawal, even coffee might set off a panic attack. Marijuana would make my anxiety way worse. I don't see how racing thoughts, a fast heartbeat and shallow breathing would help. Also the negative effects on my memory would not help me study pharma and the lethargy/depressant effects would not help my complete lack of energy during wd which is the MAIN symptom for me.

I have been taking methadone for years. I requested through my key worker that I wished to reduce my daily limit at a steady rate and I have finally got down to 21mg a day. I went to the integrated recovery service to collect my 4 weekly scripts as normal and was told that I had to see the Dr who requested I give a U/A. I was very angry and upset as it was me that requested I reduce. There may have been cannabis in my urine, the problem wasn't with giving a U/A, it was how both my key worker and the Dr made me feel, as I had been reducing from January 2016 from 90mg a day, I felt that I was being looked upon as being in use of other drugs. Why would I do this after it was my request to reduce? I left there without a script due to this. I am now panicking and am questioning myself. Is there anything I can do to get a script?

Hello. I am attending a methadone clinic due to a tragic accident that opened my eyes to working on getting sober. I am currently 124 days clean & very proud of myself. I am currently trying to switch methadone clinics because the clinic that I attend currently has been really not listening to me (possibly because I am prescribed benzos). I have been at the same dose for almost 3 months now... I feel like total crap. I have withdrawals all over again. It is a horrible feeling and that's why I am trying to make the switch. The withdrawals are horrible and I am sweating like crazy, which I know about methadone and how it can cause the sweats but these are the cold sweats, pounding headaches and depression even more than usual. I also get goosebumps when it's warm outside... I mean it, honestly. You know your body and when you're an addict you know when you're going through withdrawal. I have tried to tell my current clinic this many of times in the last 12 weeks and it just is not working out! My question is, how long does it take to switch?

Is there anything different that I need to do? If I do get switched will they think different of me? That's one of my concerns of one clinic thinking different of me trying to switch clinics to get a higher dose but you don't feel high from it... It's ridiculous how some people think you can feel high from it and no you cannot. It makes it to where you're not sick. You eventually do get addicted to the methadone but it's better than being out abusing drugs and killing yourself taking 60 painkillers a day or out spending $180 every other day on illicit drugs or any other kind of opiate that you are trying to take or have taken for a very long time... Don't get me wrong, I love being sober but I don't like the withdrawal and I signed up for the methadone to not go through withdrawal and not have to deal with it. Eventually, I will have to go through the withdrawal of getting off methadone sometime. I know this but, for now I just want to feel better and deal with my kids, and be with them and not feel like s***...
