Methadone Clinic That Accepts Medicaid For Payment (Top voted first)
Updatedlive in seminole county, Florida. I am on medicaid and want to know if there is a clinic or doctor that will accept medicaid for methadone maintenance.
I go to central florida treatment center in Orlando. Orange county. They accept medicaid. (407) 843-0041. Thats there # Hope that helps someone
Most methadone clinics will treat you like a criminal to some extent whether you are (to some extent) or not. The TRUTH is, methadone is an opioid developed by the Germans, whose patent was actually stolen by a US pharmaceutical company after WW2. It may NOT get you "high", but I've seen people shoot up methadone (with the flavorings and all! yuck!), and I know if you take several times your dose you WILL feel it. Anything UNDER about 80mg feels like taking baby aspirin...but if you ARE taking it to HELP YOURSELF try to keep it as LOW as possible, and lower your dose SLOW and LOW and you will be better off for it. Methadone is NASTY, horrid stuff. I mean, look who INVENTED it! I was taking about 5 Lortab 7.5's when I first went to the clinic. They should have laughed and kicked me out. Instead, I was a walking dollar sign who became increasingly WORSE because of their drug and their system. The way it is set up is made to make you feel like you've "done something wrong" when, in fact, I had a fairly minor issue with pain pills. I was self-medicating. Just don't try the trick of taking Xanax and methadone together. You might be fine for a while...but you will nod out constantly and sooner or later you won't come out of it.
That's right, like drug addict! I go there but I don't get quite why they do it that way. I would feel completely safe with a 30day supply, it doesn't do anything to me but stop cravings. I HAVE NEVER FELT HIGH ON THIS!.It has helped me get back track.
Ok, first: Colonial Management OWNS 75% of the methadone clinics in /Central Florida. Plus, they own the place in Ormond Beach where the methadone is processed (named after the founding doctor's two daughters). I pray that dr. has someone close to him go thru the horror of addiction--he deserves it 100 times over. They are all about the money. I was 24 when I first went there and they took nearly 15 years of my life. I was taking 5 Lortab 7.5's about 2-3 times a day when I first went. The intake nurse TOLD ME what to tell the doctor and how to act so they would take me. See, I could have had a few uncomfortable days and that's it, but I was young and this was before the Internet. If you don't HAVE to go to a Colonial Mgmnt. run clinic...don't. They treat you like a criminal and the only way you can get more than 5 take-outs is if you are handicapped and can't come often. There's a place called Central Florida Clinic (I think...just look up Central Florida Methadone Clinics. They take Medicaid. They may be on Colonial Drive but they're not COLONIAL MANAGEMENT managed. Two different things. Anyway, there definitely IS a place in Orlando that takes Medicaid: but do yourself a favor. If you have Medicaid, try to get your pcp to give you suboxone on send you somewhere that will treat you. Don't accept "regular Medicaid"--pick an insurance agent. I would suggest Stay Well. Plus, in Orange County and Seminole County Stay Well/Medicaid has pain clinics too. Methadone is a bad bad road. If you are on it, start SLOW and LOW reducing your dose. Even if it takes you a YEAR (and if you are 75mg or more it WILL most likely, to get off it comfortably.) On your last day, treat yourself with LOTS of Loperamide (an OTC anti-diarrheal that is related to the opiates), and try to get your doc to give you an Rx for Ativan just for a month. Take 3 of those a day. It took 4 months to get all that crap out of me and I STILL never fell right.
He was moving there, not driving 1x week to pick up.
I live in Bradenton-Sarasota & I go to the PAR clinic in Bradenton. It's on US41 in a plaza where Livingston's Billiards used to be. It's right next to ABC liquor. They take Medicaid & every 6 months you get a take home. They require attendance at a AA or NA meeting of your choice & clean drug screens for each take home. Hope this helps! Good luck!
could I have a name. Is there a local dr. That will provide methadone for a longstanding methadone pain patient?

Michigan Therapeutic Consultants have clinics in Mt. Pleasant and Gaylord. Their telephone number is 989-953-4357 (Mt. Pleasant) and 989-732-4357 (Gaylord). They specialize in Methadone maintenance for the treatment of opiate addiction. If you also have Medicaid / Healthy Michigan you may qualify for assistance covering your treatment.
Last Friday I o'd off of xanax and opiates. I was very stupid. Thank God for the Narcan and other medicines. Also my wife was there to talk me to the light. Do not mix the two of them. (Never)...
Re: oneminuszero (# 17)
I've been on methadone for 32 years. It can control your life but so did chasing drugs. I'll take methadone any day over how my life used to be. On 140mgs a day and go to the clinic twice a month. Do what you should do and a good clinic will work with you.
I really wish I could help, but I haven't been able to find any that are directly listed in that area, however, I will admit, I am not familiar with Florida, so there could be some places that I am missing.
Have you tried asking your doctor or perhaps calling the Medicaid office to see if they have a place they can recommend?
Another good place to ask would be your local hospitals, especially the social workers, they usually have listings of such places for those in need that may have trouble finding them.

I also live in seminole county fl and have a close friend who has been on methadone for about 4years now.. I have given him rides to this same methadone clinic listed in orange county, Fl.. Its a bit of a drive from longwood Fl but I'm sure well worth it to u...its on Semoran/436 about 10-15 minutes closer than airport is too.. Personally tho, After seeing the results of it myself .. I would strongly recommend soboxone or subutec before Methdone. ITS Much more affective if u really want to get "clean" and not just high.# 4078430041. THIS CLINIC HAS ALL OPTIONS AVAILABLE AND APPARENTLY DOES TK MEDICARE TOO..GOOD LUCK!!
Ha.. seriously? Your like in Kansas compared to seminole county, Fl tho Toto.. Have u ever driven in Fl? Just wondering bcuz of reply to the question. Sorry,Really not tryin to be rude but just found it odd to recommenrrd a place that is such a long haul.
You don't have to wait 6 months 4 take homes. you can get your first one after 30 days, second one after 60 days, 31 90 days, 4th one in a year after that you have to wait another 4 years to get your 5th take home. With an job and negative drug panels that is. just thought I would clarify.
I live in northern Michigan and would like to know if there is a methadone clinic that accepts Medicaid.
I just read my comment and my phone must've "auto corrected" it for me lol
1st take home is 30 days, 2nd take home is 60 days, 3rd take home is 90 days and 4th at 1 year.
After that it's another full year before you get your 5th.
