WHITE PILL M 234 ## My daughter was insulin resistant and went on the makers diet and does the metforman and lost 25 pounds in 30 days and got pregnant which was why they thought she might be insulin resistant. She had had 5 misscarriages. She is almost term with no problems and I am very overweight and wonder if I am insulin resistant. ## Yes, the tablet mentioned above is Metformin 500mgs, a generic for Glucophage. I have taken Metformin 500mg for about 5 or 6 years. Recently, the tablet has not been dissolving. The number on one side of the tablet is 500 and on the other side 571. This has been happening for several months. To get them to dissolve, I am cutting them in half the long way. Can you tell me why this tablet is not dissolving? Thanks! ## You should not be cutting these tablets in half, these are 500mg Metformin controlled release tablets and the shell of the tablet is not supposed to dissolve, or be digested. It is part of the mechanism they use to control the time released formulation. If you read the detailed drug information, there is a notice about this in there. I Take Metformin Is It Ok To Diazepam As Well ## NO Problem. ## I have two different pills. One says APO on one side and on reverse it is scored and has an'M' and 500 on it. The other metformin pill ( that I was used to 0 is oblong and unscored with #93 on one side and 48 on the other. Both are to 500mg. Are they really the same..just different manufacturs? Appreciate info befor I take the 'new' round one. Thanks. ## Joy, yes they are both the same medication and dosage, just manufactured by different companies. I found a pill that is white, oblong with a triangle and 571 imprinted on one side and 500 on the other. I was taking Metformin 500MG (APOT). This brand is impossible for me to find. I now take Metformin 500MG (TEVA). This brand (TEVA) makes me sick and I have been taking it for one year and my body has not been able to adjust to it. Please help me find the (APOT) brand. It was a oblong-shaped tablet imprinted with APO500 on one side and MET on the other side. Please help me!!!!!! my tablet has no writing on it and tastes disgusting, is this metformin? ## If there are no markings on it, then I am sorry, but it is going to be difficult to say what the tablet contains. All U.S. manufactured prescription medications are required, by law, to have unique markings, so they can be identified. Where was it obtained? Was it from a U.S. pharmacy or elsewhere?

how to use Metformin and glimer , whether before meals or after meals. pl advise ## Glimepiride and Metformin are both oral antidiabetic medications and these tablets do take 15 to 20 minutes to start working, once you take them, therefore, ideally to get the most benefit from them, they should be taken just before a meal. That way, once you are done with your meal, they have already had a chance to start working to help lower your blood sugar. white oblong tablet I 47 should be metformin 100mg ## I HAVE RECENTLY STARTED TAKING A GENERIC METFORMIN FROM A DIFFERTENT PHARMACY .. THIS ONE IS WHITE OVAL SCORED AND ON ONE SIDE HAS I 47 ... I take 1000 mg Metformin made by Solco. There are black specks in all of the white pills and black specks left in the bottom of the bottle. The black specks do not appear inside the pills. This seems like a dirt problem in the manufacturing process. Please advise... ## Was this in a factory sealed bottle, or a bottle dispensed by your pharmacy? If it was from your pharmacy, then you should contact them about the issue, however if it was a factory sealed bottle that was never opened by a pharmacy, then you should report it to the company. I have irregular periods.
