I think the metformin HCL 1000 mg ER is too much for me. It made me sick to the point i couldnt function. So i started taking half the dosage. 500 mg per day. I cut the pill in 2 and take a half per day. Will this hurt me? ## Hello, Sally! How are you? This is a time released medication, so it should not be cut, that could cause you to get too much of the medication at once. Please provide some commercial names for pills that have the DBX-13 formula so I can get some. Is it available over the counter or does it require a prescription? My gluocose levels neared 500 today and I have to get off the Metformin. ## Hi Phil, I hate to break the news to you, but DBX-13 is a scam. Please have a look at the following discussion threads to see what others are saying about it: Discuss/DBX-13-scam-261559.htm Discuss/dbx-13-251946.htm Having said that, finding an alternative to something like DBX-13 that isn't what it's made out to be, can prove rather difficult. Hi. I have been on metformin 500mg twice a day for about 4 months. I m a 52 year old male, non diabetic taking the drug for its life extension properties. Here's my issue. Recent blood work indicated my glucose level is now 60 (it has always been normal before). My seasonal Dr. in Florida advised me to reduce the dosage to 500mg once a day, at night only. Im aware that the effective dose is at least 1500mg. per day. I showed my blood results to my regular Dr who said that 60 is not a "significant value" (and that metformin is not known to cause hypoglycemia) and he advised that I could up the dose to 1000mg, twice per day. Obviously I'm confused. Both of these docs have great reputations. Any help would be greatly appreciated. ## Hello, Fred! How are you? So far, there h...

Or any other problems? ## There are always risks associated with the use of any medication, but what you have to remember is that the risk of organ damage and suffering permanent health problems is far greater, if you were to let your diabetes get out of control. Glycomet contains the active ingredient Metformin and it may cause some side regular side effects, such as: nausea, dizziness, stomach pain and flatulence. I've been on metformin extended release for about 3 1/2 weeks now. I have not noticed any improvement in my symptoms, I'm taking it for insulin resistance and pcos. I've been monitoring my blood glucose as well and no change there either. My concern is that the pills arent dissolving. I read online that the shell of the extended release pills will pass in your stool, and I thought they were just shells. But I got curious since I haven't noticed any changes and see the shells everyday. So I put on gloves and poked one of the shells and the inside was filed with white contents just like the pill. For others on the extended release, have you ever done this? Is the shell usually empty and soft just like a shell, or does it too have the white contents? My doctor is out of the...

Aurobindo - SHUT THEY DOWN! When a manufacturer changes we should be notified. After all, it is our money going to these companies. I opened my Metformin and noticed the shape and the SMELL was unbelievable - FISH SMELL. I will only accept meds from TEVA. How do they get away with this? I called the pharmacy and they were not very concerned. I'm going to inform everyone I know (family, friends, church members, EVERYONE) about this manufacturer. ## Hello, Connie! How are you? I'm very sorry that you're so upset.
