Metformin Hcl 500 Mg Tab

I have ulcerative colitus and now have been given Metformin 500mg to lower my glucose readings. Since starting the Metformin I have had very loose bowel movements. Should I stop the Metformin? Thanks

My Dr. has put me on Metformin Tablets, 500 (twice a day). I have been on it for appro. 4 weeks. I notice that I am depressed, gaining weight, bound-up and and just hate my life right now. I am always tired now and my body aches all the time. I wonder could this be the effect of all this metformin going into my body. Please Help. Thanks

find pills in my metformin,it has a z on front and 70 on back its mixed with the same pills are these the same or not

Letting your blood sugar levels continue out of control can cause far more serious complications than diarrhea.

How long have you been taking the Metformin? Diarrhea can be a side effects, along with nausea and flatulence, but normally these should hit their peak at around 4 to 6 weeks of use and then start to taper off in severity.

Have you consulted your doctor? There may be something you can take to help with the issue. If you are diabetic, it is very important not to stop this medication, unless your doctor instructs you to do so.
