Metformin Er Dangers Of Taking It For Weight Loss

I quit smoking two years ago and it left me with this horrible unsatified feeling that only eating can take it away tempory. So i asked the doctor for a pill that could help me with the cravings and also help me loose the weight i gained since i guit smoking. And she gave me metformin er will it help me.

Metformin is useful for diabetics because it stimulates the body's production of insulin, which causes your blood sugar to decrease. but for most people, this action causes HUNGER. I don't see how it would help you lose weight, and it could cause your body to over or under produce insulin, very dangerous.

I don't understand!! I take METFORMIN for diabetes and I started having memory loss.
I can't remember how to get to my sisters house or other places and I've been there hundreds of times. I am going to see my doctor for this. I have quit taking this medication The manufacturers know that it can cause brain problems, but it seems that money is worth more that memory.

This is an oral antidiabetic medication, which is normally used to lower and help control blood sugar levels.

I have read posts from a few other people that have used it for weight loss, because there are some cases where improving the bodies use of insulin can help, however, it has not been approved for this use and I don't really have any information on such usage.

It may cause side effects, such as: nausea, dizziness, abdominal pain and flatulence.
