Metformin 500 Mg Reaction

I took metformin 500 mg once a day for two days and had following reactions. Muscle weakness over both shoulders just once or twice a day, extreme thurst, increased hunger, confusion came and went.....as per doctors advise , I went to 1/2 the medicine, did better for a day- better digestion, frequent urination made me lose water weight but on the third day, I got those same system....

It is normal to experience side effects, when you first start taking a medication, because your body needs to get used to it. They will usually wear off after about 4 weeks or so, once your body adjusts.

This is working to lower you blood sugar, which means that it must have been high and it's actually elevated sugar levels that cause the thirst, hunger and increased urination.

Are you diagnosed as being diabetic?
