Metanx Side Effects

I tried Metanx (cost me a $160.00 copay) and could not use it after 5 days.
I did not sleep for 5 days even with a sleeping pill.
Also had severe calf cramps in bed and also the pain I had was doubled.
I don't know how this medicine was approved for diabetic neuropathy!!!
Now I am out all this money and still have severe diabetic nueropathy.

There really aren't any side effects, so to speak, from Metanx, it is just a supplement that contains nutrients that can help treat or prevent diabetic neuropathy, it's not an actual drug, at all. It's actually classified as a medical food.

The insomnia makes some sense, because adding the nutrients to your body could cause you to be more energized than usual. However, the cramping and pain does not.

Have you consulted your doctor about it?

What other medications do you take?
