i have been prescribed metadoze ipr 500( metformin) and montair lc ( montelukast sodium ) tablets after i was diagnosed with high sugar. if i discontinue the medication, i get an itching sensation. is the itching sensation a side effect of the medicines or is it due to sugar levels?

It's rather difficult to say, it could be due to a sudden withdrawal of them, or nerve damage from the diabetes.

I'd suggest consulting your doctor.
As to the Montelukast, that's not used to treat diabetes. Are you sure that's why your doctor prescribed it?
