Meloxicam Side Affect

I've been prescribed meloxicam 15 mg one daily. After taking the pill at night it does make me sleep a little bit better for a little longer time but I wake up feeling like I've been dosed. I've been trying to take a half at a time to work my way up to the full dose. Is this common and will I eventually tolerate it better so I can continue taking it along with my pain medication inquest of not having to increase my pain medication

What pain medication are you taking?

Meloxicam is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory, and they are known to potentiate the side effects of opiates, in some people that take them, so you may experience more nausea, dizziness, and drowsiness than usual, according to FDA reports. It may take about 4 to 6 weeks for them to taper off and eventually go away.
