Meloxicam For Ear Pain (Top voted first)
UpdatedI have been prescribed Meloxicam 15 mg once daily for inner ear pain/inflammation (take 2 daily for 7 days, then 1 daily for 7 days). So, 2 weeks altogether (21 tablets). Should I be okay with no side effects? The only thing I have is GERD. But, I am worried about when, if any, side effects will appear. Also, is this medicine right for inner ear inflammation?

All medications carry the risk of causing side effects, even if you're only taking them for a short period of time. The FDA lists the typical side effects for this medication as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased risk of bleeding and stomach irritation.
If you have GERD, it may aggravate it. Are you on an antacid to treat it?
And yes, Meloxicam can be used to treat inflammation and pain throughout the body.

I was on Omeprazole for almost 3 years, but I stopped taking it about 2 and a half weeks ago due to all the warnings on PPIs now. I already have non-stop ringing in my ears and head pressure/aches every day and feel like I can fall over at any time. It brings on anxiety, which I've never had before.
If your doctor approves, you may be able to try a different medication, such as Pepcid or Zantac.
Their typical side effects include nausea, dizziness and headache.
I had problems with Omeprazole myself, but did fine with Pepcid and after having severe gastritis, I pretty much have a standing order for it to take, as needed.
You may want to ask your doctor about trying one of them.
Sounds like you may have vertigo. Have you consulted an ENT?
