Both ingredients are... ## There are certain dosages of some drugs that the FDA feels are unsafe to be taken, without a doctor's prescription and supervision. Ibuprofen is a good example of another medication that is available both ways, over the counter in the U.S., you can buy it in doses up to 200mgs each, but anything over that requires a prescription. Are there any other questions?

This is not any type of cold or sinus remedy. This tablet contains 800mgs of Sulfamethoxazole and 160mgs of Trimethoprim, the active ingredients in Bactrim, which is an antibiotic that is used to treat various types of infections, the name brand for it would be Bactrim. I've been taking methadone for opiate dependency. Can i take maxifed dm for a sinus infection ## There are no interactions listed between taking them together, but you should check with your doctor, or pharmacist to be certain. You should know, however, that if it is actually an infection, there is nothing in the Maxifed DM that will help clear it up. That will require an antibiotic from your doctor. Is there anything else I can help with?
